Premier League Parlay: Bank On Manchester City For Weekend Parlay
Premier League Round 8 Betting Picks: 2-Team Parlay (+265)
Burnley look set for a season of struggles as they get back in action on the road to Man City, who is eager to bounce back on Saturday with a convincing win.
Parlay 1st Pick: Manchester City vs. Burnley - Saturday, October 16 - 10:00 a.m. ET
The Citizens kicked off their domestic season on the wrong foot with a 0-1 defeat to Tottenham on matchday 1. Still, they immediately bounced back, winning four games in a row, including a Champions League match against RB Leipzig. However, if we take out the EFL fixture against Wycombe, City has won just one of their previous four matches across all competitions.
They are sitting third in the standings, just 2 points behind leaders Chelsea, with the Premier League race promising to be very close this season with at least four teams fighting for the title. However, the Citizens dropped 3 points in 7 games, a bit too much in such a short time.
For this clash, they will be without South American duo Gabriel Jesus and Ederson while Ferran Torres is out with a broken foot. In addition, Ilkay Gundogan was not fit to face Liverpool two weeks ago, but Pep Guardiola hopes to be fully fit for this clash. At the same time, Oleksandr Zinchenko, who missed Ukraine’s international break matches, will have to be assessed.
City is a bit depleted here, but they still possess impressive attacking firepower and should easily win this home match.
On the other side, Burnley is one of the four winless teams. They are in the red zone with just 3 points earned in 7 games and 5 goals scored in the process. Moreover, their record against City is abysmal. They lost 12 of their previous 13 head-to-heads, with the Citizens winning just 1 in 27 mutual encounters.
Manchester City has kept clean sheets in all of their last four home domestic league games. Burnley failed to find the back of the net in their previous four trips to Etihad Stadium, conceding 20 goals in the process. City tends to be very ruthless, with teams obviously beneath them in quality. City should easily win this encounter, and for our 1st pick of this parlay, we are going with City Win To Nil.
1st Parlay Pick: Man City Win To Nil (-139)
Parlay 2nd Pick: Norwich vs. Brighton - Saturday, October 16 - 10:00 a.m. ET
Brighton at +112 against Norwich? What are we missing? The hosts are sitting dead last in the Premier League table with 1 point earned in 7 games from the goalless draw against 18th-placed Burnley. Not just that, but they have the worst attack in the league with just 2 goals scored and the joint worst defense with 16 goals conceded. They’ve dropped straight back into the 2nd-tier league following their last two promotions, and they will probably do it again.
Yes, they ended their losing streak in the Premier League against Burnley just before the international break, but do we trust them to do it again? Their biggest problem is finding the back of the net. Teemu Pukki should again be joined in attack by Joshua Sargent. They are not bad at all, but the players in charge of bringing the ball in the opposition box and offering them assists have questionable quality.
Brighton is not scoring too many goals either, but they love to keep it tight at the back and win their points with short victories. They kept 3 cleans sheets in 7 games while Norwich failed to find the back of
the net on five occasions. This should be a dull match with few goal-scoring chances, and we usually would go with the under, but the price is not exactly what we want (-140). So instead, for our 2nd pick of our parlay, we will go with the away win. This is a 1-0 Brighton win type of game. Brighton has been surprisingly better away from home this term and is unbeaten in their three away matches so far. Brighton’s Neal Maupay has scored four goals in seven matches this season, while Leandro Trossard has scored in his last two matches against Norwich. They are priced at +175 and +250 respectively to score anytime during the game.
2nd Parlay Pick: Brighton ML (+112)
