Tottenham vs. Manchester United Odds

Man United is in desperate need of a result this weekend in the Premier League with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer being under huge pressure.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United Prediction

Tottenham: Ups and Down

Tottenham is the only team of the season with zero draws in nine games, they win, or they lose. They won five in nine games, but they lost their games against the big EPL names, 3-0 at home against Chelsea and 3-1 on the road against Arsenal. They also played another top-four team last weekend when they lost 1-0 to West Ham, having zero shots on target in the second half of the game.

Harry Kane was a target for Manchester City in the summer transfer window, who has been open in their interest in the England captain. Still, they failed to meet Spurs’ asking price, so before the start of the season, Harry Kane has confirmed he is staying at Tottenham. Unfortunately, he doesn’t look to be the same player since then. He scored just 1 goal this season, and he’s underperforming in every single match.

Nuno Espirito Santo, who won the Premier League Manager of the Month for August, eased the pressure centered on Harry Kane, saying that the energy is exactly the same and that we will see the real Kane in a few weeks. Sometimes it’s very difficult to watch Tottenham under Nuno Espirito Santo. They are very pedestrian, looking to be with no energy for many parts of their games. They lack that firepower we are used to.

Tottenham remains without Ryan Sessegnon, while summer signing Bryan Gil will be assessed on Friday. However, Nuno will have all the best players at his disposal, so we expect a strong starting XI from the hosts.

Man United: Bounce Back Time

Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte are knocking on Man United’s door. Why? Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still in his post, but one more bad result will see the Norwegian sacked. It’s that simple. Solskjaer has reportedly got three games to save his job after earning just one point from their last four league games.

Do you remember last week when we previewed Man United vs. Liverpool? We are asking again: why are you forcing Fred and Scott McTominay in every single match? They are not even bench players for United. But again, we are not Premier League managers.

It’s difficult for us to advise you guys to bet on Man United, given the circumstances. Still, the players will be desperate to prove their critics wrong, and Solksjaer has a habit of bouncing back when he needs it the most, so we expect the wounded Red Devils to bring their A-game and beat Spurs.

United could be boosted by the return of Raphael Varane, who returned to full training and will surely be in the starting XI. We should definitely see some changes here, maybe Jadon Sancho from the 1st minute, maybe Matic, but the individual skill should win this game. We are waiting for something good from the Portuguese duo Fernandes/Ronaldo. We are waiting for Rashford and Greenwood to use their amazing pace.

Paul Pogba was on the pitch for 15 minutes against Liverpool before being red-carded, so he’s suspended for this clash, and believe it or not, this is something positive. The Red Devils could have been reduced to nine men after Cristiano Ronaldo avoided a red card after he appeared to kick out at Curtis Jones. Imagine how furious he was and the positive reaction and fighting spirit he will bring against Tottenham.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United Betting Picks

If we are taking out the penalties, Tottenham’s xG of 0.35 is lower than all but Leeds and Norwich, so don’t expect Spurs to dominate this one the way Liverpool did. United will be much more relaxed at the back.

Where’s the free-flowing, attacking, and entertaining football Daniel Levy promised before appointing Nuno Espirito Santo? It’s missing because we are talking about a defensive coach. Maybe it’s crazy, maybe not, but we expect Man United to beat Tottenham and provide their manager with a much-needed change in fortunes.

Tottenham vs. Manchester United Picks

  • Man United ML (+137)
  • Man United -1.5 (+340)
