Liverpool vs. Southampton Odds

Liverpool is ready to extend their brilliant goal-scoring form against Southampton this weekend in the English top-flight league.

Liverpool vs. Southampton Prediction

Liverpool: Goal-Machine

Best attacking team in Europe? Liverpool or Bayern Munich? Probably a small plus for Liverpool because the Premier League football is more intense than in the German Bundesliga. According to the latest rumors, Leo Messi will win the Ballon d’Or this season, so no Robert Lewandowski or Mo Salah, which is a joke given their numbers.

Anyway, let’s celebrate another Premier League round of fixtures with some incredible matchups. Liverpool is the only Premier League team with a 100 percent record in Champions League this season. They won all their five games, scoring 15 goals in the process. Mo Salah is unstoppable. He scored 17 goals in 17 games (Premier League and Champions League). Not just that, but he offered 7 assists in the process. He’s a goal-scoring machine, and nobody can stop him.

On top of that, Sadio Mane is sitting second in the EPL top-scorers chart with 7 goals scored. Liverpool’s attacking duo is out of this world. Unfortunately, Liverpool will lose them both in January for the African Cup of Nations. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita will all leave the Reds for Egypt, Senegal, and Guinea, respectively. Liverpool is arguably the most-affected team.

That’s why Liverpool are determined to close the gap between them and leaders Chelsea before January and add three more points to their season tally against Southampton. They have an excellent home record against the Saints, winning their previous four home head-to-heads. Liverpool covered the -1.5 spread in all four games scoring at least 2 goals in each match, with Mo Salah scoring 5 in the process.

Klopp and company are firing on all cylinders despite a few injury problems. They dropped three points in a shocking 3-2 defeat to West Ham, but they immediately bounced back, destroying Arsenal last weekend and backing that win with another 2-0 UCL victory against FC Porto.

Roberto Firmino, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, and Joe Gomez are out with injuries, so once again, Diogo Jota is expected to help Liverpool’s deadly attacking duo Salah and Mane.

Southampton: Ups and Downs

Southampton’s 4-game unbeaten run came to an end last weekend when they surprisingly lost to bottom-placed Norwich. That win helped Norwich climb the standings leapfrogging Newcastle. Nathan Redmond missed the defeat to Norwich due to the birth of his child, but he’s fully fit and ready to start against the Reds.

On the road, the Saints have won just 1 in 6 games, conceding 1-0 goals in the process. They had more days to rest after last week’s Premier League round, but they shouldn’t be able to create too many problems for Liverpool. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side played really well in the first half at Norwich but failed to find the back of the net. Their biggest problem is the final touch and the low conversion rate. If you’re not clinical against Liverpool, they will punish you. On the other hand, if you want to pull off the upset and win points against the Reds, you should score at least twice because they will score at least two on their own.

Liverpool vs. Southampton Betting Picks

Yes, Southampton managed to keep Man City at bay a few weeks ago, returning home with 1 point, but their only win was against Watford on the road. They managed to score two goals in just one away game this season (2-2 to Newcastle). They scored 11 goals in the Premier League this season, and only Norwich City has scored fewer goals.

Liverpool has scored two or more goals in their last 16 outings across all competitions. We expect another superb performance from the hosts, and we have three picks for this match.

Liverpool vs. Southampton Picks

  • Liverpool HT/FT (-120)
  • Liverpool to win and Mo Salah to score (-125)
  • Liverpool to score in both halves (-125)
