Premier League Round 18: Predictions, Player Props, and Parlay Picks

Five EPL games have been postponed because of Covid-19 outbreaks, but all the other fixtures scheduled for this weekend will proceed as planned. So it's time for our Premier League Parlay, and this time we decided to take another approach and go with the player props.

Newcastle vs. Manchester City - Sunday, December 19 - 9:00 a.m. ET

City made it seven straight Premier League wins by destroying Leeds 7-0 during the midweek action, and they enter this clash being heavy favorites to win the three points. However, there's no value in betting the visitors to return home with the three points as they are priced at -550 on the three-way moneyline, according to the latest soccer odds. You could easily go with -2 as we expect them to cover the spread against a poor Newcastle side.

On the other side, the hosts conceded seven goals in their previous two fixtures against Leicester and Liverpool, and if they don't wake up soon, they will be in trouble. The winter transfer window is just around the corner, and we expect them to bring 3-4 players. Until then, they will continue dropping points and losing games, mostly this weekend when they host leaders Man City. In addition, they have the worst defensive record in the league with 37 goals allowed in 17 games, so expect them to concede at least three more.

For this match, we are going with Phil Foden to give an assist and combine him with Jack Grealish to have two or more shots on target.

  • Parlay: Phil Foden (assist) + Jack Grealish (2+ shots on target) (+650) - DraftKings

Wolves vs. Chelsea - Sunday, December 19 - 9:00 a.m. ET

Chelsea dropped two more points in the midweek round, being kept to a 1-1 draw by Everton. Now they are trailing the leaders Man City by four points. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku, Ben Chilwell will all miss this fixture due to coronavirus. At the same time, Thomas Tuchel declared that Kai Havertz was feeling ill, so he will probably remain outside the team.

With Chelsea missing so many starters, Wolves have a great chance to win at least one point from this clash, but as we previously stated, we are skipping the winners market and focusing on the player props. Mason Mount scored in his last four Premier League appearances, and we expect them to find the back of the net against Wolves. Mount is versatile, has pace, is sharp technically, and has exceptional shooting attributes. He's one of the most proactive players when the Blues are out of possession. Mount plays mainly in the opposition's final third. He's very creative and uses angles well in playing through the lines.

Another interesting bet for this match is Jorginho contributing on the scoreboard at +360. Jorginho is a doubt for Sunday because he's in pain, but the injury crisis in midfield has caused him to play through pain on multiple occasions. Why him to score? Because we might have a penalty for Chelsea, and he's the one taking them.

  • Pick: Mason Mount to score (+210) - Unibet

Tottenham vs. Liverpool - Sunday, December 19 - 11:30 a.m. ET

Spurs will be in action for the first time in weeks after their previous three fixtures across all competitions have been postponed due to covid-19. Yes, it's crucial to have a good rest, but it's also important to play, and we expect Tottenham's players to be out of shape. On the other side, Liverpool will be eager to maintain the pressure on Man City and add three more points to their season tally.

The Reds are still waiting to learn if Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, or Curtis Jones would be available after their suspected positive covid tests. However, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate were decent at the back against Newcastle, and in case Van Dijk remains out, they will once again lead the backline. Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita are in contention to start after an impressive performance against Newcastle, and Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will definitely lead the attacking line.

The Egyptian king, Mo Salah, is currently playing the best soccer in the world, and no one can stop him. We expect him to deliver once again and contribute on the scoresheet, but we will parlay him with Diogo Jota to have 2+ shots on target.

  • Parlay: Mo Salah to Score + Diogo Jota 2+ Shots on Target (+250) - DraftKings

Premier League Picks

  • Newcastle vs. Manchester City Parlay - Phil Foden (assist) + Jack Grealish (2+ shots on target) (+650)
  • Wolves vs. Chelsea - Mason Mount to score (+210)
  • Tottenham vs. Liverpool Parlay - Mo Salah to Score + Diogo Jota 2+ Shots on Target (+250)
