Liverpool: Can’t afford to drop points
The Reds have picked up a remarkable 38 points from their 14 Premier League games in 2022 and need to win their final four games to retain their hopes of an unprecedented quadruple. Liverpool is the best home team of the season winning 14 of their 17 games in front of their fans scoring 45 and allowing just seven goals in the process.
Fresh from booking their place in a third Champions League final in the last five seasons, Liverpool is enjoying a superb campaign being closer and closer to achieving the quadruple. After signing a two-year contract extension to keep him with the club until 2026, Jurgen Klopp became the first manager ever to reach the Champions League, League Cup, and FA Cup finals all in a single season.

With two upcoming finals against Chelsea and Real Madrid, Liverpool is sitting just one point behind Man City in the Premier League and they can’t afford to drop points this weekend against Tottenham in what looks to be their toughest game left to play in the domestic league.
The hosts enter Saturday's match as Europe's most in-form team, with their only defeat in 29 outings coming against Inter in the Champions League. Against Villarreal, they produced their worst half of the 2021/22 campaign allowing two goals but they managed to bounce back in style in the second half beating the Yellow Submarine.
Liverpool’s task of leapfrogging City in the standings and winning the title has been made no easier by events this week. Pep Guardiola’s men are now only fighting for the league title after their Champions League semifinal exit. The Reds have a great home record against Tottenham winning each of their last three mutual encounters. Roberto Firmino is Liverpool’s only doubt with the Brazilian international set to miss this clash.
Tottenham: Fighting for the Champions League spots
After dropping five points in two games against Brighton and Brentford, Tottenham bounced back in style beating Leicester 3-1 on home soil with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son scoring all three goals. The South Korean international has found his scoring boots netting six goals in his previous five appearances for the club.
This is a crucial game for the visitors as they look to earn their Champions League spot for the next season. They are sitting just two points behind Arsenal with four rounds to go till the end of the season with the North London Derby between the two sides being scheduled for next week. A draw against Liverpool will be gold, but given the difference in quality between the two sides and Spurs’ poor away record against Liverpool, it will be very tough for the visitors to pull off the upset on Saturday.
Impressively, Tottenham is so far undefeated this season against the top two sides, beating Man City both home and away and holding Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture. For the visitors, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, and Japhet Tanganga are out injured while Oliver Skipp’s season came to an end after undergoing surgery.
Liverpool vs. Tottenham Prediction
Tottenham showed they have the necessary weapons to expose Liverpool’s problems. Yes, the Reds are not perfect, but they are probably the most solid team in the European leagues. It won’t be a walk in the park for Liverpool but given their form, squad depth, and head-to-head record against Tottenham they should have enough to add three more points to their season tally.
We expect an entertaining match with at least three goals on the scoresheet. The visitors have significantly improved under Antonio Conte but they will need to play a perfect game in order to pull off the upset. We expect them to find the back of the net but to return home empty-handed.
