It was a busy first week in the 2022-23 English Premier League, as every team was in action across the league. Picking up right where they left off last season, Tottenham scored the most goals on the week, beating Southampton 4-1 in a game that got out of hand early. 

With matches spanning Saturday through Monday this week, let’s take a closer look at a few I’m keyed in on for some of the best prop bets of the week.

Arsenal (-210) vs. Leicester (+550). Two teams who picked up points out of the gates in week one will square off Saturday at Arsenal, as Leicester City comes to town following a 2-2 draw vs. Brentford. For Arsenal, they were able to overcome some early follies to beat Crystal Palace 2-0, getting the season started on the right track as they look to improve on their 5th place finish from 21/22.

Across all of the EPL in week one, few players looked better than the recent Arsenal acquisition Gabriel Jesus, who looked in a league of his own. In this game vs. Leicester, look for Jesus to find the back of the net for what will be the first of many goals for the Gunners.

Manchester City vs. Bournemouth Prediction

Manchester City (-1400) vs. Bournemouth (+3600) In the most lopsided matchup so far this season, 2021-22 EPL Champions will take on a team in Bournemouth who got promoted last season and is riding high following a week one win over Aston Villa at home. Things will take a step up this week, however, as they travel to take on a Manchester City team with one of the most talented rosters in the EPL.

Former Bundesliga Player of the Season recipient Erling Haaland made an immediate impact for his new team in game one, scoring both goals in their 2-0 victory over West Ham last weekend on the road. Now facing a team in Bournemouth who they’ll surely want to show who runs this league, I look for Haaland to find the back of the net once again.

Wolves (+135) vs. Fulham (+210) Fulham took powerhouse Liverpool to the brink last weekend, ultimately settling for a draw despite being in control of the match from the opening. For the Wolves, there wasn’t much to be excited about against a mediocre Leeds team, as they fell on the road 2-1 in a game their offense was sorely lacking. 

Another area that was troubling for the Wolves was their back line, getting sliced and diced all afternoon allowing chances that could have had their goals allowed well over two. Already finding the back of the net once, look for Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic to find it again here.
