It has been a disappointing start to the season for Liverpool in both the domestic league and Champions League. The Reds have picked up just nine points from six Premier League games sitting eighth in the standings. On top of that, they got destroyed by Napoli in their opening UCL campaign.

The main reason for this poor start is clear: injury issues. At one point, Liverpool was missing ten crucial players but happily for the club and fans most of them are back. On top of that, many key players underperformed which is a bad sign. Mo Salah has been quiet as he is definitely missing Sadio Mane and the back line was been subject to criticism.

Despite spending big on a striker this summer, with Darwin Nunez from Benfica, parting ways with Mane was a bad move. He's a big-game player and Liverpool is currently missing one. Their attention must return to improving their league form and position. They will definitely try to close the gap on the top spots and return to winning ways. Liverpool will remain without Andrew Robertson, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but Jordan Henderson, Diogo Jota, and Roberto Firmino are fully fit and ready to deliver.

On the other side, Brighton enters this clash in the fourth spot after a brilliant start to their domestic campaign. On top of that, they have a great record against Liverpool with the two teams sharing the spoils in the previous four mutual encounters (1 win, 1 defeat, 2 draws). Brighton has also been in excellent scoring form and their record on the road is impressive. We expect them to find the back of the net on Saturday and why not, pull off the upset and return home with at least one point.

  • 1st Parlay Pick: Over 2.5 goals in the match (-161)

Southampton vs. Everton Prediction

The Saints will be determined to avoid a third domestic defeat in a row after losing to Wolves and Aston Villa without finding the back of the net. They are one of only two teams, along with basement club Leicester City, who are yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season and somehow they are favorites to beat Everton.

They are decent going forward and they are creating many goal opportunities but they must improve their conversion rate. Southampton beat Everton 2-0 in their last head-to-head and will be eager to achieve consecutive Premier League victories against the Toffees for the first time in eight years. The Saints will be without midfielder Romeo Lavia and right-back Valentino Livramento, both injured. The hosts have failed to contribute on the scoresheet in just one of their last six Premier League home games.

On the other side, Everton finally won their first match of the EPL season just before the international break when they surprisingly managed to beat West Ham. The visitors have lost seven of their last nine away league games against Southampton but they enter this clash unbeaten in their last five games.

Everton has been given a boost heading into this fixture as number one goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is back after recovering from a thigh problem and will definitely replace Asmir Begovic between the sticks, while Calvert-Lewin is also expected to play. We expect an entertaining match with both teams having the necessary weapons to score.

  • 2nd Parlay Pick: Both teams to score (-125)

Premier League Round 9 Parlay (+191) (Bet $100 to Win $191)

  • Liverpool vs Brighton: Over 2.5 Goals
  • Southampton vs. Everton: BTTS (-125)

He’s our European soccer specialist and he's having an average of 55 units of profit in the last 7 years with his soccer picks. He’s all about positive energy, respect, and long-term profit and if you ever hear “Alex’s last-minute goal” that means he did it again winning a bet in the last minute of the game, so never lose hope.
