The hosts love to make their life difficult. Last weekend, they went 2-0 down to the worst defensive side in the league Bournemouth but they somehow managed to win that game with Rodrigo Bentancur scoring the winner in stoppage time. The same thing happened in the Champions League against Marseille with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scoring Spurs’ second goal at the death.
They are sitting third in the standings with 26 points picked up in 13 games and they are one of the best home teams in the league with five wins in six games and 16 goals scored in the process. The primary objective for Antonio Conte and his men is to win all three points and maintain the pressure on Arsenal and Man City.
Liverpool has dominated this fixture in recent seasons and has gone 10 games without defeat against Tottenham. But the last two meetings have ended in draws with goals. Liverpool has massively struggled for consistency this season and they are winless on the road, scoring just five goals in five away games.
The hosts will be without Heung-min Son who has suffered a fractured eye socket against Marseille. Richarlison is also ruled out due to a muscle injury and Dejan Kulusevski is unlikely to be able to start having only returned to light training this week. On the other side, Jurgen Klopp will be without Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Arthur, Naby Keita, and Joel Matip.
With so many attacking players being ruled out through injury you would expect a low-scoring affair and even a draw. Liverpool will be desperate to return to winning ways and will enter this clash all guns blazing. They will probably extend their positive head-to-head record against Tottenham but we’re not touching the winners' market.

Unai Emery was officially presented as Aston Villa's new head coach last Friday and declared he is delighted to be back in the Premier League and that his dream is to win a trophy with his new club and his objective is to play in Europe with the Villans.
After an impressive 4-0 victory over Brentford, Aston Villa suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle in their most recent meeting. The hosts failed to beat the Red Devils at Villa Park since October 1999 but they managed to win last season on the road. Villa will again be missing Boubacar Kamara, Ludwig Augustinsson, and Diego Carlos on Sunday through injury.
Manchester United has shown signs of improvement that seem to have regained their form in the last few games. They are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run and they kept six clean sheets in their last seven games across all competitions. Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, and Antony are doubtful for Sunday's clash while Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane are both ruled out.
Villa may well have the new manager bounce that everyone talks about but United is a tough opponent. It’s a tricky one to call but we feel that United, despite so many important players ruled out for this clash, might just have that bit too much quality.
