The US secured a hard-fought point in their first game of the World Cup against Wales, but it was a game many thought the US should have come away with three points. Tim Weah opened up the scoring in the 36th minute off a beautiful pass from Christian Pulisic, giving the US a 1-0 lead. However, a penalty kick from Gareth Bale gave Wales the equalizer, and the match would end there at 1-1. Now, the US battle against the group favorites, England, to try and secure their spot to qualify. With Wales losing to Iran earlier today, the United States' path to advancing is now easier, but they still need a good match against England today.

England is a team deep with Premier League talent, and it's no surprise they are only +650 to win the World Cup. England's attack may be one of the deepest in the tournament, and they have elite attackers left and right. This was put on full display in England's opening match, where they scored six goals. England ended that game with eight corners themselves, and it shouldn't be much different against the US. The England attack with Raheem Sterling and Foden will put pressure on the defense.

The US had five corners in their match against Wales, and they should put up a similar number against England. The US has Christian Pulisic to put pressure on the wingbacks, and we could see Giovanni Reyna in this game, who is one of the United States' best-attacking players. If England goes up early in this match, the US will have to be aggressive to score an equalizer, which will produce more corner-kick opportunities. Sterling is a pivotal piece of the England attack, and he gets touches frequently. I expect Sterling to score again in this match, and I also like him to score the first goal at +550.
