The 92nd Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The ceremony will be televised in the United States on ABC.

Who is the current favorite to win Best Picture?

The current favorites to win Best Picture include Parasite, 1917, The Irishman, Marriage Story, Joker and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD (+900)

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, directed by Quentin Tarantino, is about an actor named Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, who is struggling to find meaningful work in Hollywood. Dalton lives next door to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate, who are the filmmaker and actress whose futures were altered by members of the Manson family.

A late introduction in the betting market having been widely unconsidered until recent momentum. This World War One epic written and directed by Sam Mendes follows one brother's journey of hell on the Western Front. 

PARASITE (+250)

This foreign-language film has taken Oscar season by storm and there's plenty of buzz round Hollywood that this surprise package could land Best Picture. 

JOKER (+1200)

Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker is an origin story set in 1981 about a man named Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix who is a failed stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City.

THE IRISHMAN (+8000)

The Irishman, directed by Martin Scorsese, is about a mob hitman Frank Sheeran (Robert De Niro) who gets involved with Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci) and his crime family. As Sheeran works his way up to become a top hit man, he also goes to work for Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), who was a powerful Teamster tied to organized crime.

MARRIAGE STORY (+10000)

The Marriage Story is a comedy-drama film directed, written and produced by Noah Baumbach and is about a stage director and his actor wife as they struggle through a divorce that pushes them to their personal and creative extremes.

Who won Best Picture in 2019?

Green Book was named Best Picture in 2019.

The movie is about Dr. Don Shirley, a world-class African-American pianist, who went on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. Shirley needed a driver and protection, so he hired Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx. Streep, who is often described as the best actress of her generation, was nominated for a record 21 Academy Awards and won three of them. She also received 31 Golden Globe nominations and came away with eight awards.
