Today we're going:
Pick One – Soccer (English Premier League):
In this weekend’s biggest soccer clash, I have both teams scoring in Manchester United v Chelsea.
It’s hard to know what to expect from Chelsea with Frank Lampard at the helm, but I wouldn’t hold out for immediate coherence – up top or at the back.
There will be a youthful (and inexperienced) edge to Chelsea this season, but they’ll have a real go at a Manchester United side who I expect to be far from convincing this season.
Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be immediately introduced to United’s shambolic defense, but it’ll take more than a few weeks to significantly improve from last season, and despite Eden Hazard’s departure, there are still goals in this Chelsea side.
Both teams have scored in the last three meetings between these two sides, and it’s hard to see either remaining defensively solid for the whole 90.
Both Teams To Score @ -133
Pick Two – Baseball (Major League Baseball)
The Reds have been on quite the run at home recently, having gone 8-2 in their last ten. The Cubs have looked improved on the road as of late, but they’re still a far cry away from how the perform on home turf. Cincy are currently one up in the series after three games, and I expect them to string their third straight over the Cubs to end it 3-1.
Cincinnati Reds Moneyline @ -125
Pick Three – Soccer (French Ligue 1):
Forget their end-of-season slump last year, PSG will mean business come Sunday.
Thomas Tuchel’s men won their first 15 home matches last season – nine of which by three goals or more. Therefore, I’m backing a PSG -2.5 victory at home against Nimes.
Nimes fell 3-0 in this fixture last year, and despite a creditable 9th place finish last season, the hosts will be keen to make a big statement in their opener, so things may get messy for Les Crocodiles.
Paris Saint-Germain -2.5 @-146
Pick Four – Soccer (Major League Soccer):****
Atlanta United come into this match on the back of three wins in their last four league games. Their momentum was added to with the US Open Cup semi-final win over rivals Orlando City during the week. Atlanta have won nine of their last 10 games in front of the own supporters at Mercedes Benz Stadium. They have made the place a fortress again.
On the flip side, New York City FC come into this match on the back of a disappointing defeat to Real Salt Lake and there’s no suggestion that they will have it any easier this weekend. Atlanta United have been winning at half time and full time of seven of their last nine home games. They have also kept a clean sheet in eight of their last 10 matches at home.
