Here's our picks for today's US Open action

The prize for everyone at this stage of the 2019  US Open is a place in the second week of the tournament. There are some compelling ties to look forward to. Nick Kyrgios has found form and focus to become a force, while Taylor Townsend will be looking to back up her sensational second round win over Simona Halep. Here are four picks for Day Six of the US Open.

Andrey Rublev v Nick Kyrgios

US Open men’s third round, Saturday August 31

So it appears that Nick Kyrgios has come to play at this year’s US Open. There were hints that the Australian was carrying good form into the tournament, winning in Washington just three weeks before pitching up at Flushing Meadows, but his blow-up at the Cincinnati Masters also urged caution to those predicting a Kyrgios surge at the final Grand Slam of the year.

Kyrgios has yet to drop a set at this year’s US Open and with his half of the draw opening up there’s a real chance that he could make a deep run to the quarters or semi finals. Andrey Rublev saw off Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round, so the Russian mustn’t be underestimated. However, Kyrgios looks engaged and ready to make a mark in New York.

2u - Back Nick Kyrgios To Win @ -175

Taylor Townsend v Sorana Cirstea

US Open women’s third round, Saturday August 31

Taylor Townsend pulled off one of the upsets of the tournament so far, beating Wimbledon champion Simona Halep to make the third round of the US Open for the first time in her career. The 23-year-old came to the net over 100 times against the Romanian and she might need to employ similar tactics in this third round match.

Townsend had to qualify to make the main draw at this year’s US Open and so this will be her sixth match at the tournament. The American expended a lot of emotional energy in the win over Halep and so the odds for a Cirstea win look good here. This Romanian might stand a better chance of taking down Townsend.

1.5u - Back Sorana Cirstea To Win @ +162

John Isner v Marin Cilic

US Open men’s third round, Saturday August 31

This will be a clash between two big servers and so it’s a good bet that this won’t be decided in straight sets. Marin Cilic is, of course, a former US Open champion, but comes into this third round tie on the back of a wobbly win over Cedrik-Marcel Stebe in which he dropped the opening set only to fight back and win in four.

John Isner has not managed to get the better of Cilic in either of the Grand Slam matches they have played so far and the 34-year-old has struggled to find his best form following an injury lay-off earlier in the year. Cilic has also had a difficult 2019 season, though, so this one could be difficult to call one way or the other.

0.5 - Back John Isner To Win @ +106

Caroline Wozniacki v Bianca Andreescu

US Open women’s third round, Saturday August 31

Caroline Wozniacki has often found her best form at the US Open. The Dane has made the final of the women’s singles twice before at Flushing Meadows, also reaching the semi finals in three other years. Wozniacki has had to flight to get this far, going the distance in the first and second round, but her resolve has been admirable.

On the other hand, Bianca Andreescu has yet to drop a set at this year’s US Open with her win over Kirsten Flipkens in the second round most impressive. Can the Canadian back that up with another victory over another big name at Flushing Meadows? This could be one of the clashes of the third round.

1u - Back Three Sets @ +150

PointsBet have returned with their famous Make It Rain promotion. They're giving away $1 in bonus funds for every ace scored by a player that you've bet on. This applies to any bet at a minimum of $50 on game handicap during Week One of the US Open.
