Saturday's US Open Picks: Best Bets For Day 6
We had Goffin yesterday as an underdog and he dominated his opponent, Krajinovic 3 sets to 0. An impressive 3rd round win for Goffin has him riding a huge confidence wave into round 4. Our other play in yesterday’s article was Madison Brengle who didn’t pan out as an underdog. Lets look into some matchups for Day 6 on the second leg of round 3.
Karen Khachanov vs Alex de Minaur Predictions
Khachanov won his 2nd round matchup against Kuznetsov 3 sets to 0. If you have seen a common theme with my approach in tennis betting, you would notice that I love riding the hot hand into the next matchup. If I see a guy sweep his matchup 3 sets to 0, I’m going to be looking into him for the next round. de Minaur won his matchup 3 sets to 1 against Gasquet but I was watching and de Minaur really had to work hard for his win. I think Khachanov comes into this round with more confidence and a great chance to win as a slight underdog from Vegas.
Maria Sakkari vs Amanda Anisimova Predictions
This is the closest matchup of Day 6 between the men and women. This is basically a pick em, but I think Sakkari has a better chance of winning this matchup. Sakkari lost her first set in round 2 against Bernarda Pera, but persevered and breezed through the next two sets, winning 6-3 and 6-2. Women play best of 3 sets as compared to men who play best of 5 in Majors. A woman has a much tougher task to come back from a first set loss. I think Sakkari rides this momentum into round 3 and takes down Anisimova.
