Tuesday's US Open Picks: Best Bets For Day 9
We had an even split on Day 8, going 1-1 on our two picks. Pospisil got dominated by de Minaur, losing 3 sets to 0. However, our underdog pick in Mertens, worked out very well for us. Mertens beat Kenin on a clean sweep of 2 sets to 0. Let’s look into the first day of quarter finals with 2 men and 2 women matchups.
Naomi Osaka v Shelby Rogers Predictions
I’m loving Osaka in this matchup and taking her -1.5 sets to Rogers. This means that she needs to have a clean sweep of 2 sets to 0 in a win against Rogers. Taking Osaka straight up has no value whatsoever at -450. You have to put far too much up at stake just to make anything back. Taking her to win 2 sets to 0 makes your odds a lot more valuable and I think she does it with ease today.
PICK: Osaka -1.5 sets (-155)
Pablo Carreno-Busta v Denis Shapovalov Predictions
Shapovalov is a favorite in this one but I don’t think a big enough favorite. I think he dominates Busta with ease. You have to bet almost double the money to make it here at -190. This means you need to bet $190 to win $100 or $19 to win $10. Even at these favorited odds, I still think Shapovalov gets the win here and makes you some money.
PICK: Shapovalov win (-190)
