We had another even split on our bets yesterday, going 1-1. Osaka had to win in a clean sweep, 2 sets to 0, and she did exactly that at almost even odds. We also had Shapovalov as a favorite who played a well fought match that ended in a difficult loss. Shapovalov won a must win 4th set with his back against the wall, by a whopping score of 6-0. After tying the match on such a dominant set win, I thought he was a lock to finish things off. Unfortunately, he didn’t. He lost 6-3 in the final set.

Let’s look at a couple plays I like on day 10 of the US Open

Victoria Azarenka v Elise Mertens Predictions

I love Merten’s as a slight underdog here. I bet her as a slight underdog against Kenin in the last round and she dominated with a clean 2 sets to 0 victory. I actually think her last opponent, Kenin, is better than Azarenka. Mertens holds a lot of value today in my eyes and has a good chance of advancing into the semifinals.

PICK: Elise Mertens @ +110

Alex De Minaur v Dominic Thiem Predictions

I think Thiem wins this match for sure. However, I do not think he sweeps de Minaur 3 sets to 0. With this bet, as long as de Minaur wins just 1 set, we make our money. Minaur has been playing far too well in this tournament to get swept in this Quarter Finals matchup. I’m thinking de Minaur wins the first set and makes this bet an easy winner early on.

PICK: de Minaur +2.5 sets @ -140
