Taylor Fritz (+3.5) Game Spread vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas (-120) (Bet $120 to win $100)

While the USA has been looking for their next “face of Men’s tennis” for quite some time now, 24-year old Taylor Fritz may quickly be blossoming into that role right before our eyes. Fritz has used a dominant last calendar year to rise to a No. 22 world ranking. He is coming off an impressive ATP Cup performance where he beat two top-15 players (Felix Auger-Aliassime, Cameron Norrie), and did not drop a set through his first two Australian Open matches. However, it is his tough five-set win over Roberto Bautista Agut in the last round that has us confident entering tonight.
Fritz dug deep and battled back from two sets to one down, breaking serve five times in the last two sets. He won the match despite landing just 54%of first serves, but still won 74% of those points.
Tsitsipas has looked vulnerable to this point, dropping a set in his last two matches, and losing four of five matches entering the Australian Open. Tsitsipas’s game spread record is 0-7 in his last seven ATP main draw matches when facing older opponents, and we like the older Fritz to make it eight straight while giving the Greek all he can handle.
Alex De Minaur vs. Jannik Sinner OVER 37.5 Total Games (-115) (Bet $115 to win $100)

Alex De Minaur, the 22-year old Australian, is attempting to reach the quarterfinals at a Grand Slam for the second time, which would match his 2020 US Open quarterfinal run as his best ever Grand Slam result. De Minaur will surely have some nerves to work through, but he could benefit from channeling the support of the home crowd.
A wager on the over total games in a De Minaur match can be considered contrarian, as his last seven Australian Open matches have gone under the projected total match games line. However, Jannik Sinner finally showed some vulnerability in dropping a 6-1 set to Taro Daniel in his last match, making us feel better that this match will go at least four sets. Sinner was broken four times and committed 31 unforced errors in his last match, and he too will be feeling the nerves having only made one previous quarterfinal at a Grand Slam (2020 French Open).
Marin Cilic to Beat Felix Auger-Aliassime (+115) (Bet $100 to win $115)

Fading Felix Auger-Aliassime in his last match against Daniel Evans did not work out for us, but we go back to the well with underdog Marin Cilic’s underdog moneyline odds. Though FAA dominated losing just six total games over three sets against Evans, his nine sets played over his first two matches against inferior opponents are still troubling. FAA brings an ultra-aggressive mentality to each match, as evidenced by his 83 unforced errors in his Second Round win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The veteran Cilic will force FAA to hit more balls and play longer points than he would like, which will force the Canadian to lose patience and become erratic.
Cilic has won all three prior meetings against FAA (two on hardcourt, one on grass), making his plus-money odds too enticing to pass up.
