Rafael Nadal vs. Taylor Fritz Prediction
Based on the futures odds at DraftKings, oddsmakers are making bettors pay a premium for a predicted Men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Djokovic has -650 odds to reach the final, while Nadal’s are second-best at +100. There were question marks about Nadal’s health coming into the tournament, and he was not even one of the top two Men’s favorites to win Wimbledon. However, things opened up much more for the Spaniard after Mateo Berrettini and Marin Cilic (who Nadal would have had to beat at this stage) withdrew after testing positive for COVID-19.
Though two of the top three players of all time seem destined on a collision course to meet in the final, can the No. 11 seed, and the only American left in the draw, disrupt those plans? Taylor Fritz is more than capable, as he is playing some of the best tennis of his life. He has not dropped any of the 12 sets played to get to this point, and only two players have pushed him to a tiebreak.Â

Fritz is serving exceptionally well at Wimbledon. He has been broken five times in four matches and has now won eight straight matches on grass after winning the tune-up tournament at Eastbourne last week.
Nadal and Fritz have split two head-to-head matches this year, though Fritz’s win was the more recent one at this year’s tournament at Indian Wells on hard court. Nevertheless, the fact that Fritz has two matches against Nadal under his belt is enormous in that the American will be used to Nadal’s unconventional tactics and overall slow pace. The other thing that should benefit the 24-year-old Fritz is that playing on consecutive days should not be as rough on his body as on the 36-year-old Nadal.
Fritz has not lost in straight sets in any of his last 20 Grand Slam main draw matches, and Nadal’s last six Grand Slam quarterfinal matches have gone over the total match games line. Thus, we are backing these trends today and siding with Fritz to cover the set and game spread.
