Ruud had converted just four of his 22 break-point chances in the first two rounds of the tournament. However, his return of serve was dominant against No. 4 seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas, as he converted five of his seven break-point opportunities. Conversely, Ramos Vinolas never got a look at a break-point chance as Ruud cruised to a straight-set victory, only losing two games in the process.
Berrettini enters this match on a 12-match winning streak, and not many victories in that stretch were more impressive than his 6-1, 6-4 defeat of Dominic Thiem in the semifinals. The match lasted just 78 minutes, which should bode well for Berrettini to be fresh in the finals. The Italian is looking for his third consecutive tournament title after winning in Stuttgart and the Queen’s Club. While Ruud did not face a break point, Berrettini’s serve was also dominant in the semifinals, winning 29 of his 34 first-serve points.
Ruud is just a -120 moneyline favorite despite already owning two clay court titles this season and finishing runner-up at Roland Garros.
