Cameron Norrie vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Sinner vs. Carreno Busta Prediction and Odds: ATP Montreal
We have reached the Round of 16 at the National Bank Open, and underdogs have ruled the day thus far. Just one of the top four seeds remains, and there are seven unseeded players versus nine seeded players remaining.
Today’s article focuses on the only match of the day featuring two top-ten seeded players, Cameron Norrie and Felix Auger-Aliassime, and one of the top remaining favorites, Jannik Sinner, taking on the impressive Pablo Carreno Busta.
Cameron Norrie vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime Prediction
Cameron Norrie and Felix Auger-Aliassime meet for the second time in a week, as Norrie beat Auger-Aliassime in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) in the semifinals of last week’s Los Cabos Open. In fact, this is the third meeting of the year between these two players, as FAA took the other two meetings in straight sets (7-5, 7-6 at Rotterdam, 7-6, 6-3 at the ATP Cup Australia), and owns a 4-1 head-to-head advantage.
Norrie’s breakthrough win against Auger-Aliassime was under optimal playing conditions for his game, as he enjoyed the slower hard-court conditions in Mexico. However, these courts in Montreal are playing much faster, which should suit the Canadian better.
Auger-Aliassime has reached the third round for the second time at this event. While there are some nerves playing on his home soil, he has also discussed how much the partisan crowd has buoyed him so far. We expect Auger-Aliassime to channel the support from the home crowd in a positive manner today and for him to earn his fifth victory in six matches against Norrie.

Jannik Sinner vs. Pablo Carreno Busta Prediction
Entering the Round of 16, Jannik Sinner has the second-best futures odds to win this tournament (+400), which makes his -215 moneyline odds seem like tremendous value today. However, his odds are not as steep as they would be if he were not facing arguably the most impressive player in the tournament to this point.
Pablo Carreno Busta has lost just eight total games in two matches against No. 11 seed Matteo Berrettini and Holger Rune. He has been anything but a pushover against Sinner, as each of their two head-to-head matches on hard court has gone three sets. In addition, just one of the six sets had fewer than 12 games played.
Carreno Busta is a live underdog, especially considering in Sinner’s lone win against him (2022 ATP Miami), Sinner saved five match points in total. Sinner struggled more than expected with Adrian Mannarino earlier this tournament, but we have too much respect for the Italian not to expect him to pull out the victory. He will just have to grind out the win, as Carreno Busta will not make it easy on him.
