ATP Winston-Salem Finals Prediction, Pick, Odds: Adrian Mannarino vs. Laslo Djere

In a matchup that surely no one predicted, unseeded Adrian Mannarino meets unseeded Laslo Djere. Mannarino is looking for his second ATP title (he won the Libema Open in 2019 on grass), while Djere seeks his third, but first-ever not on clay.

Adrian Mannarino has seemingly improved throughout this tournament as the competition got tougher and the stakes rose considerably. The Frenchman started the tournament with a gritty three-set victory (all tiebreakers) in his first match against Christopher O’Connell. After that, he lost more than four games in a set just once in his last four matches (all against seeded players) and completely dismantled the No. 2 seed Botic van de Zandschulp 6-0, 6-4 in the semifinals.

Mannarino’s serve was absolutely on fire against van de Zandschulp, with a serve rating of 309. The fact that he scored so high in that metric is astounding, considering he only made 58% of his first serves. Furthermore, he did not face a single break point and converted on 4-of-8 of his own break point opportunities. A win today would put Mannarino above .500 for the season as he is 19-19 entering this match.

Absolutely nothing has come easy for Laslo Djere in this tournament, as he has needed three sets in all of his four victories before the semifinals and two grueling tiebreakers to outlast Marc-Andrea Huesler. That is why each of his last seven ATP main draw matches has gone over the total games line.

Mannarino has won the first set in his previous seven ATP main draw matches and covered the game spread in each of his last four. Mannarino is the better hard-court player of the two, and while his moneyline odds are a little too steep today, we prefer to back him to win in straight sets while also covering the game spread.
