Andy Murray vs. Matteo Berrettini Prediction
Both Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini overcame first-set losses in their last match before rebounding to take three straight. And although Murray has not been the same player that has three Grand Slam titles to his name, his presence alone in this matchup raises the stakes. But will the match live up to the hype?
Berrettini leads the head-to-head series 2-1 against Murray, with the Italian winning the last two. Berrettini beat Murray en route to the Queen’s Club title in 2021 and edged him earlier this year in the finals at Stuttgart. While Berrettini’s two wins were on grass as opposed to Murray winning the only hard-court meeting, that hard-court win came in 2019 and was a straight-set win that required two tiebreakers.
Murray is 26-1 in his last 27 Grand Slam third-round matches. But Berrettini has been the more accomplished player this year, making three straight finals. Even this late in his career, a player as talented as Murray is bound to win one set, but Berrettini is the rightful favorite.
Andy Murray vs. Matteo Berrettini Pick
PICK: Matteo Berrettini to win 3 Sets to 1 (+300) (Bet $100 to Win $300)

Pablo Carreno Busta vs. Alex de Minaur Prediction
Pablo Carreno Busta and Alex de Minaur battle as two of the top 18 seeds. Carreno Busta won the only head-to-head meeting between these two, incidentally also at a Grand Slam, in straight sets in 2019 at Roland Garros. However, as that match was on clay, the result should not have too much bearing on how this match will play out, given how vastly different clay is from the hard court.
What matters for this match is that Carreno Busta earned the most significant title of his career earlier this season in Montreal, which was the cherry on top of a solid summer season. de Minaur is not the biggest server, which will eventually catch up to him on the hard surface. De Minaur’s results at the U.S. Open have been wildly inconsistent, as his best result is the quarterfinals, but he also lost twice in the first round, including last year.
de Minaur is 7-0 in his last seven ATP main draw matches on hard courts against opponents 30 years or older. Carreno Busta is a worthy favorite, but de Minaur will not go down without a fight, and his 31-18-3 record against the spread this year is noteworthy.
Pablo Carreno Busta vs. Alex de Minaur Pick
PICK: Alex de Minaur +2.5 Games (-125) (Bet $125 to Win $100)
