Trump is the heavy favorite to win the nomination with -138 odds, or an implied 58% chance to move on to the general election. His biggest competition remains Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who’s given +175 odds or an implied 36.4% chance to win the nomination. No other Republican is given even a 5% chance.

The bettors agree. Over the last seven days, Trump has seen 64% of bets placed on him to win the nomination. Meanwhile, DeSantis has seen 22.4% of bets. The next best is Nikki Haley, who’s seen just 7.2% of bets.

The key here is that whether or not Trump is indicted, he can still run for President. There’s nothing in the constitution that prevents someone with criminal charges from running for office unless they were charged with leading an insurrection. In fact, it could simply galvanize his base even more. So, for now, the sportsbooks don’t see a potential indictment changing the political landscape.
