Washington Commanders vs. Cleveland Browns Prediction

Washington comes into this game in desperate need of a win. If the Commanders can win, they are in. If they lose one of the next two games, life will become difficult for them. Washington surprised a lot of people this week when they announced that they would be starting Carson Wentz.

Wentz began the year as the starter for Washington, but after sustaining an early season injury, Taylor Heinicke took the offense over. Heinicke was good early on but has struggled the last couple of games which has warranted the move. It will be interesting to see how Wentz performs in what is a must-win game today.

The Browns come into this game looking to play a spoiler. Even if Cleveland wins out in their final two games, they can not make the playoffs. Deshaun Watson was suspended for the majority of the season, and once he returned to the field, Cleveland was in a difficult spot. Watson has been up and down since returning. Cleveland is 2-2 with Waston under center, including a loss last week at home to the New Orleans Saints. 

I will be backing Carson Wentz and the Commanders on the moneyline today. Washington comes into this game with a lot of motivation. This is a must-win game, and when you are facing a team that is eliminated already, you need to come out and dominate that team on your own turf.

I expect Washington to step up on the defensive side of the football and put their offense in good positions throughout the game. I understand that it can be tough to trust Carson Wentz, but this is a bad Cleveland defense. The Browns ranked 22nd in the NFL, allowing 22.9 points per game. I believe that this Washington offense will have success running the football, which will open up Wentz and the passing game. Left hand up, let's go, Commanders!
