Both teams have scored in 11 of the Hammers’ last 16 trips to bottom-half teams
Bournemouth v West Ham – Tuesday 15:00
After appearing to find some form Bournemouth have started heading back in the wrong way over the past month. Meanwhile, West Ham have been moving in the opposite direction under David Moyes.
The Cherries have already lost five times at home this season, having lost just six times here throughout last term, and a few injury problems mean their squad is looking pretty stretched. However, they do still have a decent home record against bottom-half teams, having won seven of 13 such matches since the start of last season with just two defeats, though with those doubts we’ll avoid the home win. In fact they’ve drawn four of their last 10 matches within this sample while West Ham have drawn five of their last 13 on the road so that looks the best value in terms of the outcome.
Both teams scored in eight of those 13 Bournemouth home games against bottom-half sides while both teams have scored in 11 of the Hammers’s 16 trips to bottom-half teams since the start of last season so that is our best bet.
Moyes has moved Marko Arnautovic into a centre-forward role and he’s responded with two goals in his first three games in that position, ahead of the weekend game against Newcastle. With his confidence up we fancy the Hammers’ record signing to strike again.
