Lot. DOUBLE: Presvis and Jal Music Luca Cumani's Presvis can extend his stable's good run of form
in the Florence Nightingale Aid In Sickness Trust Handicap Stakes
at Sandown. The four-year-old made a mockery of his handicap mark of 72 when
hacking up over course and distance last week. He has a straightforward opportunity to follow up here under a
6lb penalty before moving on to tougher assignments. Michael Murphy has developed a good relationship with the Sakhee
gelding, having ridden him in each of his four starts, and takes
off a useful 7lb here. Lucky Leigh looks to have a simple task in the EBF/David Charles
1968 Novice Stakes at Bath. Mick Channon's filly ran a cracker when fourth in the Queen Mary
at Royal Ascot and was far from disgraced behind Please Sing in the
Cherry Hinton. The drop back to five furlongs should pose no problems and she
would win this in a canter if reproducing the form of either of her
last two runs. The Gewefa Precision Toolholding Claiming Stakes is a moderate
contest but Ron Harris' Jal Music is 7lb below his last winning
mark and would have an outstanding chance if returning to form. When Doves Cry made an eyecatching debut behind Pure Poetry at
Haydock and will appreciate the extra furlong in the mosspm.co.uk
Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes at Doncaster. She will take all the beating if finding the expected
improvement for Barry Hills, who has a good strike-rate when
sending runners north. Valento can go very well in the Better Now Open At Sandgate Road
Handicap at Folkestone. Eve Johnson Houghton's inmate produced improved form first time
out this season behind Tawaash and can resume his progress off a
mark of 65 after a disappointing effort last time. Bobbie Soxer will be hard to beat if reproducing the form of her
last run in the EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes. John Dunlop's filly stepped up on her debut effort when fourth
at Newmarket in June and demonstrated enough ability to suggest she
can win this contest. Arabian Spirit can land the spoils in the Panoramic Bar
& Restaurant Handicap at Kempton. The three-year-old landed a seven-furlong handicap at Chepstow
last time with a minimum of fuss and can get another win on the
board for the peerless Ryan Moore. Hendersyde can be expected to show improved form in the U2
Tribute Band Zu2 Next Wednesday Handicap. Walter Swinburn's colt shaped promisingly in his three runs to
qualify for a handicap mark of 72 and could prove better than
that. Give A Lot showed plenty of inexperience on her debut run at
Aintree but further improvement can be expected in the Royal Orchid
Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Uttoxeter. |
