Dream vs. Valkyries Prediction, Best Bets, Latest WNBA Finals Odds for Game 5 - Monday, October 26th

Atlanta returns to Chase Center for a pivotal Game 5 after Golden State answered two straight Dream victories by grinding out a defensive win in Atlanta. Can Angel Reese, Rhyne Howard and Jordin Canada rebound from an inefficient Game 4 and put the Dream one victory away from their first WNBA championship? Check out this Dream vs. Valkyries prediction and best bet for Monday, October 26.

Dream vs. Valkyries Prediction: Can Angel Reese, Dream Re-Take Lead in WNBA Finals Game 5?

The WNBA Finals have effectively become a best-of-three after Golden State’s 67-62 Game 4 victory evened the series at 2-2. Atlanta had taken control with consecutive double-digit wins in Games 2 and 3, but a disastrous first half and 18 turnovers prevented the Dream from carrying that momentum into Saturday.

Game 5 now offers Atlanta another opportunity to steal a victory at Chase Center, where it already won 79-65 earlier in the series. A second road win would send the Dream back to Atlanta holding a 3-2 advantage and needing one victory at home to secure the championship.

Dream vs. Valkyries Recent Results

Dream (30-14 Regular Season)

Atlanta nearly erased a 16-point halftime deficit in Game 4 but ultimately ran out of possessions in the 67-62 defeat. Rhyne Howard led the Dream with 19 points, while Angel Reese was held to eight points on 2-of-12 shooting and committed six turnovers.

That performance looked much different from Atlanta’s previous two wins. Reese averaged 25.5 points and 14 rebounds across Games 2 and 3, while the Dream forced Golden State into repeated turnovers and turned those mistakes into easy offense.

Valkyries (32-12 Regular Season)

Golden State responded to its 26-point Game 3 loss with a major defensive adjustment. Kiah Stokes controlled the interior with 16 rebounds and three blocks, while Gabby Williams scored 17 points and Tiffany Hayes added 13 after moving into the starting lineup.

The Valkyries also cleaned up the possession battle after turnovers destroyed them in Atlanta’s two victories. Golden State committed only nine turnovers in Game 4 after giving the ball away 36 times across Games 2 and 3.

Dream vs. Valkyries Prediction

Game 4 was a missed opportunity for Atlanta, but the Dream still showed enough in the second half to make another road victory realistic. They cut a 16-point halftime deficit down to four late despite shooting 33.3% overall and only 4-for-23 from beyond the arc.

Reese is the biggest swing factor. Golden State successfully crowded her with Stokes and additional help in Game 4, but Reese had dominated the previous two matchups with 30 and 21 points. Atlanta needs to get her involved earlier and avoid allowing the Valkyries to dictate every interior possession.

The turnover battle may matter even more. Atlanta’s two victories came when Golden State repeatedly gave away possessions, while Game 4 flipped when the Dream committed 18 turnovers and the Valkyries limited themselves to nine. A cleaner offensive performance should immediately make Atlanta far more dangerous.

There is also evidence that Chase Center is not an overwhelming obstacle. Atlanta already won Game 2 there by 14 points, and Game 1 was a four-point contest that remained undecided until the closing possessions. The Dream have therefore been competitive in both road games despite the Valkyries’ strong home record.

Golden State deserves credit for making the necessary Game 4 adjustments, particularly by changing the starting lineup and controlling Reese. The question is whether those same changes can completely neutralize an Atlanta offense that scored 176 points across the previous two games.

At -102, Atlanta offers essentially even-money value in a series that has already shown major swings in both directions. The Dream have enough offensive depth to respond, and another strong performance would give them the exact scenario they want entering Game 6 at home.

Dream vs. Valkyries Best Bet

Atlanta already proved it can win at Chase Center and came within a few possessions of taking Game 1 there as well. Game 4 exposed problems with turnovers and Reese’s efficiency, but those are correctable issues rather than evidence that Golden State suddenly owns the matchup.

Backing the Dream at -102 provides a strong price on a team that has produced the two most convincing wins of the series. A Game 5 victory would send Atlanta home with a 3-2 lead and an opportunity to clinch the championship in Game 6.
