WWE Royal Rumble 2022 Betting Odds, Match Card, Picks and Predictions: Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar Among the Favorites
The second WWE pay-per-view event of 2022 is scheduled for this Saturday night. The world’s leading sports entertainment company will descend upon St. Louis this weekend as the road to WrestleMania officially begins with the annual Royal Rumble event. In addition to the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches which will each feature 30 superstars, three championships are set to be defended on the main card. With one more edition of both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown before Saturday’s pay-per-view, there is still a chance that this card grows larger still.
The following breaks down the WWE Royal Rumble betting odds for every match and offers up some predictions for one of the most prestigious wrestling events of the year.

WWE Royal Rumble Betting Odds, Picks, and Predictions
Men’s Royal Rumble Match
It is quite an eclectic mix of superstars and names that can be found among the WWE betting odds to win the Men’s Royal Rumble Match. From recent champions to superstars fighting in other matches on the card to former WWE stars who are no longer even with the company, bettors can find a little bit of everything. Heck, even the chairman himself, Mr. Vince McMahon, has been assigned 250-1 odds to win the 2022 Royal Rumble match. Spoiler alert: that’s not going to happen!
The table below lists the current odds and implied probabilities for 15 superstars currently at or near the top of the board.
Odds | Wrestler | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
+350 | Big E | 22.2% |
+375 | Brock Lesnar | 21.1% |
+800 | Roman Reigns | 11.1% |
+900 | Drew McIntyre | 10% |
+1000 | A.J. Sytles | 9.1% |
+1000 | Kevin Owens | 9.1% |
+1400 | Omos | 6.7% |
+1600 | Bobby Lashley | 5.9% |
+1800 | Seth Rollins | 5.3% |
+2000 | Finn Balor | 4.8% |
+2500 | Damien Priest | 3.8% |
+2500 | Randy Orton | 3.8% |
+2500 | Austin Theory | 3.8% |
+2500 | Matt Riddle | 3.8% |
+4000 | Sheamus | 2.4% |
+6600 | Happy Corbin | 1.5% |
After losing the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar at the Day 1 pay-per-view, Big E is the current betting frontrunner to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match. While Big E seems logical in many ways, it would be somewhat surprising WWE goes with a lackluster rematch narrative for the main event of WrestleMania.
If a rematch of a previous pay-per-view event is to come out of the Royal Rumble, one could argue that Brock Lesnar is the more likely candidate to win than Big E. After all, Lesnar never got to face Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Day 1. There are rumblings that a WrestleMania showdown between Lesnar and Reigns is what the WWE has been pushing towards all along.
Although he just won the match two years ago, Drew McIntyre never had the opportunity to reign as champion in front of a live audience. He has quietly been lurking just outside the championship picture for some time now. Was a random Day 1 match against Madcap Moss the WWE’s way of trying to throw fans and bettors off their ultimate plans for the Scottish Psychopath?
Men’s Royal Rumble Match Prediction: Drew McIntyre (+900)
Women’s Royal Rumble Match
Much like the men’s event, we still do not have a full list of the 30 female superstars who will participate in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. That being said, only nine slots are still unaccounted for with 21 women having been officially announced as entrants. The table below looks at the WWE betting odds for 15 women at or near the top of the board.
Wrestler | Odds | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
Bianca Belair | +300 | 25% |
Bayley | +550 | 15.4% |
Alexa Bliss | +600 | 14.3% |
Rhea Ripley | +800 | 11.1% |
Raquel Gonzalez | +1200 | 7.7% |
Charlotte Flair | +1200 | 7.7% |
Paige | +1400 | 6.7% |
Ronda Rousey | +1400 | 6.7% |
Liv Morgan | +1600 | 5.9% |
Asuka | +1800 | 5.3% |
Shayna Baszler | +2200 | 4.3% |
Lita | +2500 | 3.8% |
Sonya Deville | +4000 | 2.4% |
Shotzi Blackheart | +4000 | 2.4% |
Carmella | +5000 | 2% |
Mickie James | +6600 | 1.5% |
Interestingly enough, current Women’s Royal Rumble odds are leaning towards a repeat winner. Bianca Belair won last year’s event and went on to capture the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. While a one-on-one title match between Belair and either of the current women’s champs would be electric, it’s highly unlikely that WWE goes in that direction given the other talented names in the event.
One name further down the odds board that deserves some serious attention is Liv Morgan. She has repeatedly come up short in her quest to capture the RAW Women’s title over the last several months. Morgan also came up short against Becky Lynch at Day 1 in a match that ended in a fashion where she couldn't demand an immediate rematch. What better way to earn another title opportunity than by winning the Royal Rumble and headlining The Showcase of the Immortals?
Morgan is a fan-favorite and would be a terrific underdog story in the ring with 30 other talented superstars. Then again, if Ronda Rousey is indeed among the women competing in the match, all other bets are off. Given the current rumors that are circulating, playing Rousey at 14-1 might not be a bad move either.
Women’s Royal Rumble Match Prediction: Liv Morgan (+1600) or Ronda Rousey (+1400)
WWE Championship Match — Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Bobby Lashley
The reigning, defending, and undisputed WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, will have to defend the title one-on-one against a man his own size. Of course, Bobby Lashley had an extended run as the champ last year before Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to take it away.
Wrestler | Odds | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
Brock Lesnar | -230 | 69.7% |
Bobby Lashley | +160 | 38.5% |
While the Beast Incarnate has dominated in the Royal Rumble Match itself over the years, his bout with Lashley will be the ultimate test of brute strength. Although the WWE betting odds list Lesnar as a rather hefty favorite, it might actually be worth taking a swing on the underdog here.
After all, if the rumors about Lesnar and Roman Reigns headlining WrestleMania are true, it would certainly make sense for Lashley to regain the other belt at the Royal Rumble. Throw in the fact that Lashley initially won the belt from none other than our predicted Men’s Royal Rumble Match winner, Drew McIntyre, and that could very well be a feud that gets reignited.
WWE Championship Match Prediction: Bobby Lashley (+160)
Universal Championship Match — Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins
Roman Reigns’ former “Shield” brethren, Seth Rollins, is becoming the face for this championship bout at the Royal Rumble.
Wrestler | Odds | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
Roman Reigns | -240 | 70.6% |
Seth Rollins | +165 | 37.7% |
While the vast majority of fans are sick of Reigns and his endless Universal title run, it is probably going to last up to WrestleMania. Reigns has held the belt for 511 days and counting with plenty of help from The Usos along the way. This will, however, be his first pay-per-view defense without Paul Heyman in his corner. It would be awesome to see Rollins win, but the WWE is most certainly going to have its current poster boy in a title match at ‘Mania.
Universal Championship Match Prediction: Roman Reigns (-240)
RAW Women’s Championship Match — Becky Lynch (c) vs. Doudrop
Not many people expected Doudrop to win her way into a title opportunity at the Royal Rumble, but she did just that over some quality competition on RAW a few weeks ago. Standing in her way is Becky Lynch, who has been a champion ever since returning to the WWE last summer.
Wrestler | Odds | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
Becky Lynch | -1200 | 92.3% |
Doudrop | +750 | 11.8% |
It will be interesting to see how WWE develops the plot for this match on the go-home episode of Monday Night RAW. Neither woman is really operating as a face at the moment. However, it was interesting to have Doudrop come out and say she was denied the opportunity to face Lynch some 15 years ago while the two were wrestling in the U.K. At the end of the day, it’s pretty tough to envision Lynch losing her belt to an up-and-comer.
WWE Championship Match Prediction: Becky Lynch (-1200)
Mixed Tag Team Match — Edge & Beth Phoenix vs. The Miz & Maryse
Last year’s Royal Rumble winner, Edge, is now set to compete alongside his wife, Beth Phoenix, at this year’s event. A war of words between two of the longest-standing superstars in WWE has resulted in a mixed tag team match with Edge and Phoenix going up against The Miz and Maryse.
Odds | Tag Team | Implied Probability |
---|---|---|
-500 | Edge & Beth Phoenix | 83.3% |
+300 | The Miz & Maryse | 25% |
Look, while The Miz continues to be one of the most entertaining superstars on the mic, there is absolutely no chance he and Maryse win this match. Beth Phoenix wouldn’t come out of retirement if she and Edge were going to lose. On top of that, the build-up has included various instances in which The Miz and Maryse have not been on the same page. In all honesty, it’s surprising to see the odds as close as they are.
Mixed Tag Team Match Prediction: Edge & Beth Phoenix (-500)
