Oddschecker take a closer look at the day's key transfer stories.
Leicester City are holding firm in their quest to keep hold of centre-back Harry Maguire. Though Manchester United are still as short as 1/20 in some places to acquire Slabhead’s services (though a few firms have this priced at 1/2), Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is adamant he doesn’t need to sell Maguire, though there are ultimately £80M reasons why he probably will.
With Manchester City second-favourites to sign Maguire, way out at 10/1, it seems the 26-year-old’s only destination, should Brendan allow it, is Old Trafford.
Despite scoring for Real Madrid against Arsenal on Wednesday, Zinedine Zidane is adamant Gareth Bale will be leaving the club. However, after being cut to 1/20 yesterday, the Welshman is now 11/10 in some places to move to China – as bookies may start believing Bale’s surprise inclusion against Arsenal could show the tide turning.
This saga is sure to see plenty more twists and turns, but as things stand, Bale is 5/6 to remain with Los Blancos.
With rumours of a third Arsenal bid for Celtic’s Kieran Tierney being rejected, the price of this prospective move has drifted from 1/5 to 4/11 in a matter of days.
The Gunners have had a very quiet transfer window thus far, and if £25M isn’t enough to coax Tierney away from Celtic Park, it may get to the stage where Unai Emery finally gives up the ghost.
