Mauricio Pochettino heavily punted to be FIRST Premier League manager to leave

One bookmaker has cut odds from 50/1 into 10/1 that he'll go first

A spate of bets have been placed on Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino becoming the first Premier League manager to leave, following Spurs’ win over Real Madrid yesterday (July 30th).

In the last 24 hours, 82% of all bets in the market have been placed on Pochettino leaving the North London side before his domestic equivalents.

One major British bookie has gone one step further, shortening odds on Poch being the first to go, from 50/1 all the way into 10/1.

That’s in stark comparison from the rest of the bookmakers, with some still offering 66/1 that the Champions League finalist goes first.

The rationale behind the flow of money is believed to be that Zinedine Zidane is on borrowed time during his second spell at the Galacticos, with Harry Kane putting them to the sword in yesterday’s friendly.

Pochettino is the clear favourite to take over at the Bernabéu at 3/1, and is also the punters’ pick for the job, attracting 62% of all bets in the last 24 hours.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is the favourite to be the first Prem boss out of the door at 6/1, followed closely by new Brighton boss Chris Hughton (8/1) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (8/1).

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Over the past week, more bets have been placed on Mauricio Pochettino to be the first to go than all of; Roy Hodgson, Dean Smith, Frank Lampard, Graham Potter, Chris Wilder and Daniel Farke combined.

“Zinedine Zidane has been unable to guide Real Madrid to victory in three games against Pochettino now – and it appears that the Argentine could well be coming for his job.”
