Torrid has some solid form over hurdles to call upon and is respected switching to fences, with Ettila De Sivola also worthy of a market check.

MINELLA TRUMP impressed when a six-length winner of a Ballycahane point-to-point in the spring and, having transferred to Donald McCain for 90,000 pounds, he makes plenty of appeal on his NH debut. Order Of Thistle was a bumper winner here two starts ago and shaped nicely enough on his first hurdles outing at Ayr last time, while Masters Apprentice caused a shock on his hurdling bow at Uttoxeter but will be much more on the radar here.

LA CAVSA NOSTRA shaped like one to follow in handicaps when scoring at Chepstow last month and the seven-year-old is fancied to bounce back under Robert Dunne after unshipping Sam Waley-Cohen at Warwick six days ago. The switch to longer trips appears to have sparked the seven-year-old into life, and this is a nice opening for compensation. Fortified Bay bumped into a couple of well-treated animals over the summer and is interesting back from a break, while dour stayer Cairnshill is also noted.

LORD BALLIM has been happier back hurdling for Nigel Hawke in recent times and shaped well when fourth at Huntingdon last month. Previously travelling with promise at Perth in September before slipping, the nine-year-old won't get too many better chances than this to taste success once more. Bryden Boy has been beaten far enough on his last four starts but usually makes it round, which is more than what can be said for the likes of Ballycrystal, Point N Shoot and The Model County.

In an open race, marginal preference is for SKYHILL, who finished a close second over hurdles at Kelso two starts ago and wasn't disgraced at the same venue (in this sphere) last time. Max O remains a maiden under Rules but he is capable of going close in a race of this nature, with chances also given to Pads and Misdflight.

KINGRULLAH got off the mark in a maiden hurdle over 2m1f here last month and the progressive four-year-old could take plenty of beating on his handicap debut. Glorious Lady has run well in all three starts since returning from a lengthy break and she could prove to be the main threat. Others to note are Outcrop, Iolani and Cousin Oscar.
