CAPTAIN MOIRETTE shaped encouragingly when fourth in an above-average beginners' chase at Uttoxeter three weeks ago and is likely to appreciate this step up from 2m. Forecast is rated 138 over hurdles and could be even better in this sphere, while Schiehallion Munro also makes some appeal representing Micky Hammond.

SHANROE might be trained in Ireland by Karl Thornton but all four of his career starts have been in the UK and that doesn't change here as he seeks a fourth successive win. Those victories have come in bumper company at Hexham, Sedgefield and Perth, and he might be up to taking this now hurdling for the first time. Dagian had some decent form here earlier this year and could be better for a break, while Gurkha Friend is rated 94 on the Flat and also considered.
