LeBron James only just behind Giannis in terms of handle taken on NBA MVP award

The NBA's MVP award appears to be heading to Milwaukee with Giannis Antetokounmpo, the -5000 favorite to pick up the gong. The Greek Freak leads the way with the money, taking 41% of the handle with DraftKings. LeBron James is a close second with 31% of the handle.

What's more interesting is that the majority of bets are actually on the King, with 29% of bets being placed on the Lakers star at +1000, compared with Giannis who has only been the subject of 12% of the bets.

Luka Doncic is the third most popular wager with bettors, with 11% backing the Mavs European star to seal the award at +10000. Dame Lillard and Anthony Davis combine for 11% of the betting, at prices of +15000 and +10000 respectively.

The oddsmakers may see battle for MVP as finished, it seems a lot of bettors think that there could be a twist in the tale. We'll see when the NBA restarts on July 30.
