NBA Finals MVP Odds: Giannis Antetokounmpo The Oddsmaker's Favorite

The 2021 NBA finals is shaping up to be a classic with many predicting it will go to game 7. The Milwaukee Bucks levelled up the series on Thursday to make it 2-2 against the Phoenix Suns, coming back from a 2-0 deficit.

The Bucks have made the series very interesting and it's largely thanks to their star man Giannis Antetokounmpo. Despite coming in to the finals with a knee injury (that kept him out of the latter stages of the Eastern Conference finals), Giannis has been phenomenal and is almost single-handedly giving his team a shot at their first NBA Championship title since 1971.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a two-time league MVP, but being a finals MVP is the pinnacle for the greats of the game and lifting his side to a famous Championship win will surely ensure that Giannis will be the finals MVP.

But what do the odds say?

NBA Finals MVP Odds

We spoke to our PR specialist and betting expert Kyle Newman to get his takes on the latest NBA Finals MVP odds.

"Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a phenomenal finals despite a knee injury. That’s why oddsmakers are backing the two-time regular-season MVP to take home his first finals MVP. He’s given +145 odds, or an implied 40.8% chance.

He’s quickly followed by a pair of Suns guards. Devin Booker is given +190 odds, or an implied 34.5% chance. Chris Paul is given +260 odds or an implied 27.8% chance to win the award.

This award will depend on who wins the championship. If the Suns win it looks like it’ll be Devin Booker who’s averaging 27.5 points, 4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. If the Bucks win though it looks like it’ll be Giannis and his 32.3 points, 14 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. Nobody else really matches up to the two of them."
