NFL MVP Race: There’s Still Time To Get Your Aaron Rodgers Tickets In
To channel my inner Stephen A Smith, Aaron Rodgers is a bad man. After finding themselves down by 10 in the second quarter the Packers went on a 31-6 run for the second half of this one and it was on the back of none other than, Aaron Rodgers.
It was yet another dominant performance against the Chicago Bears, as Rodgers went for 341 yards and four touchdowns completing a whopping 78 percent of his 37 passes. Aaron improves to 22-5 against the Bears in his career.
With another dominant performance in Week 14, A-Rod is right there in the MVP conversation once again Here’s where he ranks in some key categories:
- 3,219 yards - 10th
- 27 TD - 7th
- 7.9 Y/A - 7th
- 108.8 rating - 2nd
- 65 QBR - 5th
It’s really at this point a two-man race for the award, as Tom Brady is also a leading candidate to take it home. Brady is a heavy favorite at -150 to Rodgers who is second in line at +600. If you believe in Rodgers, and are looking for value, then the play is on him. Here’s how the two compare:
Name | Yards | TD | INT | CMP% | Y/A | Rating | QBR |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Tom Brady | 4134 | 36 | 10 | 68.2% | 7.5 | 104.2 | 67.6 |
Aaron Rodgers | 3219 | 27 | 4 | 67.3% | 7.9 | 108.8 | 65 |
Over the final four games of the year, Rodgers and the Packers will play Baltimore, Cleveland, Minnesota, and Detroit. Of those teams, only Cleveland features an above-average pass defense (7th). The other three, are all 18th or worse.
It’ll be an uphill climb, but if anyone can pull it off Rodgers is that guy.
