The Green Bay Packers lost another opportunity to win a Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers under center this season. The Packers finished first in the NFC this season, only to struggle offensively against the 49ers and lose another postseason game before making it to the Super Bowl.
Last offseason, the Packers didn't even expect Rodgers to play for them. He came back for a "final" year and helped the Packers to a 13-4 season. But for some reason, Rodgers can never finish the job and the offense was abysmal against the 49ers when it mattered the most. There's always so much hype surrounding Rodgers, but the man only has one Super Bowl. If many are going to hate on LeBron James, then Rodgers needs to be hated on more. He's not a closer and can't be clutch no matter how much people expect it out of him.
He's not Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes and he's certainly not Tom Brady. He's also not Joe Burrow either. The young quarterbacks are taking over and Rodgers doesn't really stand a chance anymore. The Packers are the easy selection here for Aaron Rodger's 2022 team. The Packers won 13 games this year and Aaron Rodgers is looking to go to a place that is still contending. The Packers are contending and put together a solid defensive performance against the 49ers only for Rodgers and the Packers offense to struggle. Throughout his career, play-calling in Green Bay has been a little ridiculous, but this game, against the 49ers in the Divisional Playoffs, is on the offense. And the offense is led by Aaron Rodgers.
If you're not looking to take the Packers and want a long shot, here are a couple of interesting ideas.
Pittsburgh Steelers (+350)
With Ben Roethlisberger retiring, the Steelers are in need of a legitimate quarterback for a year or two. Pittsburgh would be a nice spot for Aaron Rodger's 2022 team, who is looking for a team that constantly wins. Under Mike Tomlin, even when the Steelers are at their worst, somehow, the Steelers always find a way into the playoffs. I'd expect the Steelers to be immediate Super Bowl contenders if Rodgers came.
New York Giants (+1600)
I'm not so sure that Aaron Rodgers could take on the New York media right now, but with the Giants adding a new general manager and head coach, you just never know what the Giants might do. The Giants have two top-10 picks in the first round of this year's draft they could send to Green Bay but that likely would not be enough. The NFC East is weak and that would allow Rodgers to just dominate the division and make his way into the playoffs with a new team. If Rodgers took the Giants into the playoffs, the criticism would end, but he would have to share a little bit less of his mind, or the media will destroy him. No matter what you believe in, you know that the New York media would tear him apart for his opinions. That's just a fact.
At the end of the day, where else would Aaron Rodgers want to go than be in Green Bay in 2022, after putting together a 13-4 season? If he wants to right his wrongs, he'll have to go stay in Green Bay one last time and finish the job. He's got a lot of critics and a lot of people doubting his ability. So finish the job once and for all... in Green Bay.
