Week 4 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Rankings: Ranking the Top Five Players at Each Position

As we head into Week 4, many players can help your team on the waiver wire. We will use a 12-team league with a PPR format for these rankings. He's a breakdown of the top five waiver wire options for each position for this week.

Top 5 Quarterbacks

• Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
• Daniel Jones, New York Giants
• Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
• Zach Wilson, New York Jets
• Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

The Jacksonville Jaguars are for real this season. Trevor Lawrence has thrown six touchdown passes in three weeks and has completed at least 30 passes in each of those three games. Lawrence has also reached at least 235 yards in his first three games and hasn't been sacked in the last two games. He's someone that any 12-team league member should look at for their bench right now. Meanwhile, Daniel Jones didn't surpass 200 yards passing last week. He also likely lost Sterling Shepard for the year. But because of his ability to run, there's enough to pick him up if you're desperate. Ultimately, the same can be said about Justin Fields, who rarely throws the football. His rushing numbers could be incredible once the season concludes. This year, he might beat out flex option running backs with his running game. If Zach Wilson is returning this week, he's an exciting look. The Jets have a talented wide receiver group with Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Corey Davis. Zach can put up some good numbers if he's anything better than Joe Flacco. Finally, Jared Goff is one of the more consistent quarterbacks in the league. The Lions continue to score down the field throughout the season, mainly due to Goff.

Top 5 Running Backs

• Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
• Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions
• Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings
• Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals
• Justice Hill, Baltimore Ravens

Khalil Herbert rushed for 157 yards and scored two touchdowns last week for the Bears. Starting running back David Montgomery was injured and ruled out for the game, leaving Herbert as the next backup. Montgomery's status for this week is questionable, but the Bears run so much that Herbert will be a legitimate weapon for this team, regardless. Meanwhile, Jamaal Williams saw 20 carries last week after D'Andre Swift injured his arm. He rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns to go along with two catches for 20 yards. Swift now has an ankle injury and an arm injury. Williams should see a lot of playing time if Swift continues to get banged up. Once Dalvin Cook was ruled out with a dislocated shoulder last week, Alexander Mattison took control of the Vikings' backfield duties. He rushed seven times for 28 yards but also had a touchdown. The Vikings always have a good run game behind Dalvin Cook and Mattison. If Cook is ruled out, Mattison is a solid option at flex. There's also Samaje Perine, who combined to earn 61 yards last week. He had a better game running against the Jets than Joe Mixon. I don't think Perine will see the field more than he did last week, but it's something to look at. Lastly, Justice Hill ran for 60 yards on six carries last week. He averaged 10 yards per carry. That should help him see a heavier workload moving forward. He played 22 snaps; if that increases, he's also worth a look.

Top 5 Wide Receivers

• Mock Hollins, Las Vegas Raiders
• Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers
• Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
• Greg Dortch, Arizona Cardinals
• Josh Reynolds, Detroit Lions

Mack Hollins added 158 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders last week. He saw eight targets the week before and ten targets this week. Hunter Renfrow being out helped Hollins get more targets, but he's seen at least 87% of snaps per game through three games. With Sammy Watkins and Christian Watson unhealthy, Romeo Doubs had a big performance against the Buccaneers' secondary. Doubs caught eight balls on eight targets for 73 yards and a touchdown. That's convincing. Zay Jones has now had two games with at least nine targets from Trevor Lawrence through three games. Last week, he caught ten balls for 85 yards, including a touchdown. As I said above, Lawrence is dropping back a lot and finding his receivers effectively. As long as DeAndre Hopkins is out, Greg Dortch will be a solid option. He's had nine or more targets in two of three games, and in the game where he was targeted only four times, he hauled in a touchdown grab. Dortch has been very consistent so far. Finally, Josh Reynolds put together a quality game for the Lions. He had six catches on ten targets for 96 yards. He also had a touchdown last week. He's improving week by week for the Lions.

Top 5 Tight Ends

• Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
• David Njoku, Cleveland Browns
• Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
• Evan Engram, Jacksonville Jaguars
• Will Dissly, Seattle Seahawks

Conklin has seen at least seven targets in his first three games. He just had 84 receiving yards last week. But that could all change if Zach Wilson is the quarterback. So wait for the news on Wilson before adding Conklin. Meanwhile, David Njoku just hauled in nine of 10 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. He's played at least 88% of snaps in the first three games, but it seems like he'll only be targeted in different schemes.

As long as Dalton Schultz is out, Ferguson is an interesting addition. He was only targeted three times against the Giants, but that could increase in the following week. Evan Engram and Will Dissley are two options at tight ends that you can look at if you desperately need a tight end with potential.
