Derek Carr may be on his way to New Jersey to meet with the Jets brass, but it’s Aaron Rodgers who has the best odds to be the team’s Week 1 quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers Next Team Odds

Aaron Rodgers’ odds market moved in the Jets' favor this morning even if only slightly. The Jets moved from +200 to +140 to land the future Hall of Famer. That’s a change from an implied 33.3% chance to a 41.7% chance, a substantial movement. The Raiders are still the favorites, but they saw their chances move form -300 to -200, a change from an implied 75% chance to a 66.7% chance.

Meanwhile, the Jets' odds of landing Derek Carr have actually gotten worse. They started the day at +300, 25% chance, but now stand at +325, 23.5% chance. A very slight movement, but it’s worth noting. The Panthers, who have yet to schedule a visit with Carr, have seen their odds improve as a result, moving form +140, 41.7%, to +135, 42.6% chance. The Saints also remain ahead of the Jets at +150, or an implied 40% chance.

The Jets' top-two choices have been clear for weeks now. They clearly want one of Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr. Despite Carr’s visit though, it appears that the books believe Rodgers is a more realistic option. Of course, with Rodgers at his darkness retreat, anything is possible.
