For more than a month, the books have been adamant that Aaron Rodgers was headed to the Raiders. Even as reports of the Las Vegas Raiders' lack of interest came out, the books remained steadfast. The Jets' odds have moved from +140 to -125 in less than 24 hours. That’s a change from an implied 41.7% chance to an implied 55.6% chance to land Rodgers. Meanwhile, the Raiders are now given -120 odds, or an implied 54.5% chance. So, while the Jets are the new favorites, the books do see it as essentially a 50/50 shot for the two teams.

The Titans remain a longshot looking in at +950, or an implied 9.5% chance to land Rodgers. A slight change from their previous +900 odds, or an implied 10% chance.

The books are preparing for the Jets to get Rodgers. The Jets are now given +1800 odds to win the Super Bowl, the seventh-best odds on the market. Gang Green hasn’t had preseason Super Bowl odds this high since 2011, when they were given +1600 odds at this time. The Jets made the AFC Championship game that season.

Still, is Rodgers the missing piece for the Jets?

Sure, the Aaron Rodgers next team odds look good for them now, but is Rodgers going to be the same type of quarterback that he once was? At the end of the day, this is the New York Jets we're talking about. This franchise hasn't had any luck in the past two decades. They tried something similar with Brett Favre and we all saw what happened with that.

Comparing the situation to Favre is a bit of a stretch, considering Rodgers has played well the past few seasons. There was a fall-off last year compared to the two seasons prior, but he was still an above-average quarterback. However, there are still many questions about this team. The Jets' wide receiver room is still average at best, meaning the defense will be the key reason they find success.

It's a step in the right direction for New York if the Aaron Rodgers next team odds mean anything, but still, this doesn't even guarantee them a playoff spot. Is it worth trying this out and then looking to find another quarterback even possibly next season? The positives outweigh the negatives, but there are many factors in this deal if it gets done.
