NFL MVP Odds: Josh Allen's Six-TD Performance Makes Him Clear MVP Favorite
The battle for this year's NFL MVP has turned into a two-horse race of late as Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley emerge as the two favorites. Or, at least that was the case until this past week's games in the NFL.
Despite the fact that Saquon Barkley rushed for 124 yards in a win, it was Josh Allen's six-TD showing, in a loss, that has busted the NFL MVP odds wide open. Coming into this week, neither player has made much separation with Allen's odds around the +100 mark and Barley's around +220. Now, Allen's NFL MVP odds are down to -400 while Barkley's are +550.
Is there any chance that Barley can catch Allen in this year's NFL MVP race? We take a look at the latest odds to try and find out.

Josh Allen NFL MVP Odds
NFL MVP odds can be funny. Last week, Lamar Jackson was essentially dropped from the race after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles at home. The story was that your team has to win if you're going to be in the NFL MVP race and losing head-to-head to Saquon Barkley was enough to make it Allen vs. Barley.
This week, winning no longer matters.
Josh Allen was absolutely sensational on Sunday, throwing for 342 yards and three TD while rushing for 82 yards and three more TDs. A six-TD performance is not something you overlook. However, despite all that from Allen, the Bills still lost to the Rams at SoFi Stadium, a place where Saquon Barkley and the Eagles dismantled the Rams just three weeks ago.
In the end, Josh Allen's NFL MVP odds went from around +100 last week to -400 by the time his game was over. At +100, Allen's implied probability of winning the award was 50%. Now, at -400, that probability is all the way up to 80%.
As for Saquon Barkley and his MVP odds, they've taken a hit. Even though, with four games left, he's just 483 yards away from Eric Dickerson's rushing record, Barkley's +550 odds imply he has just a 15.4% chance to win the award. He will lead the NFL in rushing, but it likely won't be enough.
