PGA Power Rankings: Top 5 Golfers For 2025 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield
Another week, another odds board blowout for Scottie Scheffler. He's at +300, while the rest of the field is +1600 or more. He was in a similar position last week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, but wound up finishing fourth. Will he get back in the win column this week, or will one of these other competitors take the victory at Muirfield Village? Matt MacKay brings his top 5 golfers in the latest PGA Power Rankings ahead of the Memorial Tournament.

5 MinutesPGA Power Rankings: Top 5 Golfers For 2025 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield
The next PGA Tour Signature Event is set to tee off from Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio at the 2025 Memorial Tournament. The field is condensed to 72 of the top-ranked golfers in the latest FedExCup rankings.
Defending champion Scottie Scheffler is unsurprisingly the betting favorite at +300 in the outright winner market. Scheffler won the CJ CUP Byron Nelson and PGA Championship before carding a T4 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge on Sunday at Colonial Country Club.
Other golfers valued highly to win the 2025 Memorial Tournament include Collin Morikawa (+1600), Xander Schauffele (+1600), Justin Thomas (+1800), and Patrick Cantlay (+2200) round out the top five betting favorites. Ludvig Åberg (+2500) and Tommy Fleetwood (+2800) are in the next range, followed by 2023 Memorial Tournament champion, Viktor Hovland, and Corey Conners at +3000 odds.

PGA Power Rankings: Memorial Tournament
1. Scottie Scheffler (+300) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Memorial Tournament odds
The World No. 1 ranked golfer, Scottie Scheffler, has placed inside the top three at Muirfield in three straight attempts. He's coming off of a T4 finish, which feels like a pedestrian outing for a golfer with his ball-striking talent.
Leads the PGA Tour in total strokes gained, SG: Approach, proximity, scoring average and par 4 scoring average. 23rd SG: Putting and 11th total putting, elevating his play with the flat stick in 2025.
There's no reason to fade Scheffler, even at this short 3-1 price. He's riding a heater right now, so let's place one unit on Scheffler to defend his 2024 title with another win at the Memorial Tournament this week.
2. Justin Thomas (+1800) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Memorial Tournament odds
After Scheffler, the odds for the rest of this Signature Event field are lucrative. Justin Thomas is 18-1, which is the range oddsmakers have been placing him in for the majority of 2025.
J.T. ended a three-year win drought with a clutch 20-foot birdie putt in a playoff at the RBC Heritage. That was against a Signature Event field, so Thomas shouldn't be phased by the stakes at Muirfield Village this week.
Thomas ranks third in total strokes gained, including fifth SG: Approach and 17th SG: Putting. Driver inaccuracy could betray him but Thomas is 22nd in proximity and 31st in sand save percentage. He's also leading the PGA Tour in putting average and birdie average this season.
Hasn't recorded a top 25 finish in three straight trips to Muirfield Village. However, coming off of rest following a missed cut at the PGA Championship, I expect Thomas to be prepped and ready to tackle this difficult course with his quality ball-striking and putting.
Let's bet half a unit on Thomas to record his second win in 2025 at 18-1 odds.
3. Viktor Hovland (+3000) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Memorial Tournament odds
Viktor Hovland's game fits the bill for Muirfield. It's why the Norwegian golfer was able to win the 2023 Memorial Tournament, blending his power off-the-tee with accuracy tee-to-green.
Hovland won at the Valspar Championship a couple months ago and gained momentum after a series of missed cuts. He's only recorded one top 25 finish since that win in late March, while turning in a T28 at the PGA Championship.
Eighth SG: Approach and 27th in total driving, including top-40 for driving accuracy. This will be key to avoid falling behind with bogeys at a difficult course like Muirfield Village.
Hovland is also 26th proximity, 25th on approach shots from 200+ yards, 44th in putting average and 21st in birdie average. He can heat up at any time, so let's bet a quarter unit on Hovland to win the Memorial Tournament for the second time in three years at +3000.
4. Sepp Straka (+4000) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Memorial Tournament odds
One of few multi-event winners on the PGA Tour in 2025, Sepp Straka holds good value in the outright winner betting market at 40-1 this week. The Austrian just out-dueled Shane Lowry at the Truist Championship in the last Signature Event played, showcasing his improved putter.
Straka is a tee-to-green tactician. He ranks fifth in total strokes gained on the PGA Tour in 2025. This includes second SG: Approach, 28th SG: Putting, 11th driving accuracy and first for greens hit in regulation at a scorching 72 percent conversion rate.
Distance off-the-tee is Straka's only knock, ranked 142nd in driving distance, averaging 295.5 yards per attempt. However, his accuracy and consistency finding fairways outweighs his lack of power on the tee box.
Previous finishes of T5-T16 at the Memorial Tournament in 2024 and 2023. Let's bet another quarter unit (0.25) on Straka to climb the leaderboard and contend for his third win in 2025 at +4000 odds.
5. Andrew Novak (+7500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best Memorial Tournament odds
Andrew Novak's golf game is streaky but he's one of the best on the PGA Tour when he's firing on all cylinders. Novak lost to Justin Thomas in a playoff at the RBC Heritage. He then proceeded to win his first PGA Tour event at the Zurich Classic with teammate Ben Griffin the following week.
Novak's most recent finishes include a T17 at the Truist Championship, a missed cut at the PGA Championship, and a T11 finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge this past weekend. He's ranked 21st scrambling, 34th putting average, 53rd proximity and 24th in total strokes gained.
The driver is the biggest liability in Novak's bag. He's 143rd in total driving, including 124th driving accuracy. However, he's ninth ins and save percentage, leaning on his short game. Finding greens in regulation is also an issue, which is why oddsmakers have Novak priced at 75-1 this week.
I'll take a flier on Novak as a longshot at the Memorial Tournament with a 0.10 unit sprinkle. This nets 7.5 units of profit if he comes through with his first solo outright win on the PGA Tour.
