Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat Prediction
It wasn't going to be easy for the Philadelphia 76ers without Joel Embiid on the floor. The 76ers lost so much production and it showed against the Heat in Game 1.
The Heat have looked like the best defensive team in the NBA in the playoffs and held the 76ers to just 92 points. Philadelphia shot 43% from the floor but just 6-for-34 from downtown. James Harden was supposed to take over for this team but it was actually Tobias Harris that showed life, scoring 27 points in the first game with six rebounds.
Harden lacked much on the offensive end, only scoring 16 points with nine rebounds and five assists. Meanwhile, Tyrese Maxey shot 1-for-6 from downtown and despite scoring 19 points, had two assists and no rebounds.
This team has no depth and without Embiid, looked completely overwhelmed.
On the other hand, Miami's Bam Adebayo let the game come to him, scoring 24 points on just 8-for-10 from the floor. Tyler Herro, who is still coming off the bench, tallied 25 points on 9-of-17 from the floor. He shot 4-for-6 from three and helped guide the Heat to a victory, despite Miami struggling to shoot the ball too.
Ultimately, Miami earned 10 more rebounds and had 13 more field goal attempts in this game. That was basically the difference. The 76ers can't hang with the Heat and the same story will be the case in Game 2. The 76ers better hope Embiid is ready for Game 3 because they held the Heat to 43.5% from the field and still ended up losing by 14 points. I'll ride the Heat in Game 2 at home.
