Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat Game 4 Prediction
The Boston Celtics struggled to shoot consistently in Game 3. Boston also didn't defend all that well and the Miami Heat took advantage. After all, the Heat were the better team in Game 3, on the road. But when Jimmy Butler couldn't return due to a knee injury in the second half, things turned for the Celtics.
The Celtics were down by as many as 26 but cut the lead to just one point in the fourth quarter. During the fourth quarter, we learned that Tyler Herro wouldn't be checking back in and saw Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum both head back to the locker room, only to return minutes later.
Tatum only added 10 points in 41 minutes. The Heat did very well defending him with P.J. Tucker draped all over him. The Heat also double-teamed and trapped Tatum when he had the ball, forcing many turnovers and mistakes.
Those were terrific adjustments from the Heat, who earned 24 turnovers on the defensive end. If the Celtics minimized turnovers slightly more, the Celtics could've won the game.
The Celtics got 40 points out of Jaylen Brown and 20 from Al Horford, but the ball movement wasn't nearly as good as it's been in the past.
Meanwhile, Kyle Lowry of the Heat set the tempo. His presence helped Bam Adebayo destroy the Celtics. Adebayo had 31 points on 15-for-22 from the field. He also contributed 10 rebounds and six assists.
Ultimately, the Celtics shot a higher percentage from the field and got to the foul line double the number of times that the Heat did. But the Heat took 22 more shot attempts due to all of the turnovers by the Celtics. The Celtics need to minimize turnovers in Game 4. It's interesting because the Heat were turnover machines in the regular season for most of the year. The tables will turn a little bit in Game 4.
Take the Celtics to even the series.
