Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Prediction: Can the Celtics Take Care of Home Court?

The Golden State Warriors destroyed the Warriors in the second half of Game 2 and have now tied the NBA Finals Series at one a piece. The Celtics stuck around in the first half against the Warriors but eventually, shots wouldn't fall for the Celtics while everything fell for the Warriors. Despite the loss, the Celtics have to be happy with a split on the road. Now they're heading home to take care of business. Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Wednesday's Game 3 between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors.

Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors Game 3 Prediction

The Celtics hung around against the Warriors, on the road, in Game 2 in the first half. However, the Warriors shot lights out in the second half while the Celtics struggled to find any consistency on the offensive end. This sounds familiar, doesn't it? The Celtics have had their third-quarter woes throughout the NBA Playoffs. This time, the woes came at the worst possible time.

However, if you're the Celtics, splitting with the Warriors is good enough. If you told Celtics backers that Boston would split the first two road games, Celtics backers would take that any day of the week. Now the Celtics have to protect home-court advantage against the Warriors.

The Celtics clearly need to minimize turnovers. There was too much carelessness out of Boston in Game 2. Pair the 19 total turnovers with shooting just 37.5% from the field, and the result will be what it was. A devasting, blowout loss.

While Jayson Tatum shot better from the field, he had a -36 for the game with four turnovers. Al Horford, Robert Williams III, and Marcus Smart combined for just six points combined while Jaylen Brown went just 5-for-17 from the field.

Meanwhile, Draymond Green of the Warriors took 12 shots in the first game and hit just two shots. In the second game, he ended up just taking three shots and added five rebounds and seven assists instead of taking shots.

That helped the Warriors get in a rhythm as Steph Curry added 29 points along with four assists in the game. The Warriors are still waiting for Klay Thompson to get going but Jordan Poole came off the bench to score 17 points which was a solid sight to see for Warriors fans.

The Celtics had too many breakdowns in Game 2. Adjustments will need to be made. But with the fans on their side in Game 3, the energy is going to build up. Turnovers must be limited at home and shots will fall at a more consistent pace.

Boston isn't far off. They just had a bad quarter. I'm not going to give up on them. Take Boston against the spread, at home for Game 3.
