Trail Blazers vs. Nuggets Prediction

The Denver Nuggets and the Portland Trail Blazers will clash for a Western Conference affair on Monday night. These are two teams that have to feel pretty good about whether they are after the first week of the season. Denver comes in with a record of 2-1 that includes a win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors, while the Blazers enter play with a perfect 3-0 record.

Denver has enjoyed great success the last few seasons, but they have struggled come postseason to go on a run. Nikola Jokic is the heart and soul of this team, but last year he simply did not have enough help to get the Nuggets over the hump. Denver now returns two stars, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., to give Jokic the support that he needs. Portland came into this year with a lot of question marks. This is a team that has enjoyed success in the Damian Lillard era but similar to the Nuggets, but come playoffs, they have struggled to find a way to string wins together. They have looked great so far and had a come-from-behind win yesterday over the Los Angeles Lakers. They will look to continue their win streak tonight. 

I do not believe that the Blazers will continue their win streak tonight. This is a good fade spot over Portland, in my eyes, as this is a group due for some early-season regression. Denver matches up very well here and should hold a significant advantage in the paint tonight. I will trust my line read here and ride the Nuggets for this game.
