The Utah Jazz vs. The Portland Trail Blazers will clash on Saturday night for a western conference affair. These are two teams that have overperformed to start their respective seasons, and they will look to continue their winning ways tonight.
Utah completely restructured their team in the off-season. They moved on from two all-stats in Donavan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, and they also fired head coach Quinn Synder. Utah had a lot of regular season success in the Synder era, but once playoffs came, this team could not get over the hump. They now have a young team that has played hungry early on. Utah is currently 11-6, and they are tied with the Blazers for first in the west. If you told people that in mid-November, this Jazz vs. Blazers game would decide first place in the west, nobody would believe you, but here we are.

The Jazz has been led by Lauri Markkanen, who is having an outstanding year. He is averaging a team-high 22.2 points per game. Collin Sexton has also been very productive for them in his first year with Utah. Portland has been led by a strong effort from Damian Lillard and Anfernne Simons. Lillard's production is expected, but Simons's production has been a welcomed sight for Portland. This is a team that will likely regress as the year goes on, but they should be proud of what they have done so far this season. Portland enter’s tonight as a three-point favorite.

Utah played a taxing game last night against the Suns, and I think that will have some effect on them tonight.
