The ACC Tournament has always been one of my favorite tournaments. There are fifteen teams in the conference, and this season the tournament is wide open. No team in the ACC really separated themselves, and one of these teams will look to win tonight and go on a magical run. These two teams made the tournament a season ago, but now the only way either gets back is if they win the conference tournament.
Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame Prediction
The Irish had a forgettable season going 11-20 overall and just 3-17 in the conference. The only team who was worse in the ACC was the Louisville Cardinals. If the Irish can not pull off the upset tonight, it will be the last game for head coach Mike Brey at Notre Dame.
Virginia Tech, meanwhile, stole a bid last year and went on a run to win the conference tournament. They feel as if they have the talent to do so again. This is a Hokies team that severely underachieved this year, going 18-13 overall but just 8-12 in the ACC. The Hokies are hopeful that they can get some more March magic starting with a win today.
I am all over the Irish tonight on the spread. I understand that the Irish struggled this season, but this is too many points. A lot of people forget that the Irish were a tournament team last season, and they returned the majority of that roster.
They have experience playing in these kinds of games, and in what could be Mike Brey's last game, I expect the Irish to come out and give everything that they have tonight in this game. Virginia Tech has not shown me enough this year to lay seven points. Let’s stay hot and cash in!
