Colts vs. Saints Predictions, Picks & Statistics
Just a few weeks ago it looked as though the NFL had given us a fantastic Monday Night Football matchup between two teams with playoff aspirations. However, the Indianapolis Colts have fallen away to a 6-7 record and are now facing an almost impossible task to make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints are in a huge fight for the #1 seed in the NFC, and this is a game they cannot afford to drop.
Indianapolis Colts @ New Orleans Saints
Mercedez-Benz Superdome, 8:15pm ET Monday December 16th, 2019
1u – New Orleans Saints -9 @ -105
- Per statschecker, the New Orleans Saints are 8-5 ATS this season
- The Saints have won four of their last seven games by more than 10 points
Interestingly, the Saints are just 3-4 ATS at home this season, but this is a huge bounce back opportunity for them. The Colts have allowed 69 points in their last two games combined, while the Saints are averaging 35 points per game in their last four. Even if TY Hilton is on the field in this one, I just cannot see how the Colts get close enough to 25 to cover this spread. Do not be fooled by a couple of rough showings by this Saints defense, they are good enough to shut down this plodding Colts offense.
1u – New Orleans Saints Over 27.5 Points @ -113
- The Saints have averaged 35 points per game in their last four
- The Colts have allowed 69 points in their last two games combined
This Colts team is suffering from injuries in a big way, and it has hurt their defense the last couple of weeks. This is the Saints final regular season home game of 2019, and they love making a big splash in prime time at home. Plenty of teams have been on the wrong end of a Saints offensive prime time explosion, and the Colts are likely to be next to experience it.
