It's been a couple of days since my brain hasn't felt like it was cooking inside of my head, but I think I made it. I do not have a fever anymore, and if we're being honest, I'm just a little sore. That means one thing. It's time to gamble again. Not that I wasn't gambling yesterday, but you know as well as I do that it's tough to pick winners when you can't even think. It just is. Even with a whole slate of games to pick through. Lucky for us, I found something today in the 1:00 pm ET games that should get home very easily. Like really easy. Like, I have no idea how on earth a book would even let us bet this type of easy. It feels good to feel good again people.
Ravens vs. Browns Prediction
David Njoku 50+ Receiving Yards (+164) (Bet $100 to Collect $264)
We're at FanDuel here because they let us take the ladders. If you can't play at FanDuel, then DraftKings has 39.5 (-125). That's a little better than the 39.5 (-110) that BetMGM is hanging, but both are basically in the same ballpark. At the end of the day, I'd rather go 50+ (+164) on this guy. What're 11 more measly little yards? At the end of the day, we did come here to gamble. Right?
People have been waiting on Njoku to pop for years now. I mean, he was taken in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. You have to expect guys with his measurables that get taken in Round 1 to be at least good. In Njoku's defense, he hasn't necessarily been bad. It's just that he hasn't gone all Rob Gronkowski on anyone. But so far this season, Njoku has looked borderline good and, dare I say, like someone we might be able to trust.
Over his last four games, Njoku has tallied at least 58 receiving yards in all of them. He's even turned in games of 88 and 89 yards in that span. The part I like the most is the fact that he's been targeted at least six times in every game. That's huge. He's actually a part of the offense at this point and not just some one-off. He's the type of guy we can target when his team is a 6.5-point underdog. A day like today.
This one almost slipped through the cracks because only eight teams in the NFL have given up fewer receiving yards to the tight end position than the Baltimore Ravens this season. But going through the list of tight ends they've played and it's no wonder they don't give up yards to the position. We're talking Daniel Bellinger, Hayden Hurst, Dawson Knox, and Jonnu Smith-type guys here, people. Hurst still went 50+ on them. If I had to guess, I'd say that the Ravens run all over Cleveland today. Once that happens, and the Browns go into catchup mode, Njoku should be involved enough to go 50+ for the fifth straight week.
