Saints vs. Ravens Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest NFL Odds for Sunday, September 20th

The New Orleans Saints visit Baltimore after both teams produced explosive Week 1 offenses, but the Ravens enter their home opener with significant injuries across the receiving corps and offensive line. Can Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Tyler Shough generate another offensive outburst with several important playmakers either sidelined or limited? Check out this Saints vs. Ravens prediction and best bet for Sunday, September 20.

Saints vs. Ravens Prediction: Will Lamar Jackson, Ravens Continue Offensive Explosion Under New Head Coach?

Baltimore hosts New Orleans at M&T Bank Stadium at 1:00 PM ET on CBS. The Ravens are 8.5-point favorites, while the current total is 45.5 after opening considerably higher in portions of the market.

That drop is notable after Baltimore scored 41 against Indianapolis and New Orleans scored 30 in Detroit. The difference entering Week 2 is availability, with Zay Flowers ruled out, rookie Ja'Kobi Lane on injured reserve and Baltimore dealing with questions at left tackle and left guard.

Saints vs. Ravens Recent Results

New Orleans Saints (0-1)

New Orleans came within one possession of stealing a road win in Detroit before losing 31-30 in overtime. Shough threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns, while Chris Olave caught 10 passes for 182 yards. Olave is questionable with a hamstring injury, although Alvin Kamara practiced fully during the week.

Baltimore Ravens (1-0)

Baltimore overwhelmed Indianapolis 41-23 and generated 506 total yards. Flowers had already accumulated 150 receiving yards and a touchdown before leaving with a hamstring injury, and the Ravens scored 31 first-half points before managing only 10 after Flowers and Lane were lost.

Saints vs. Ravens Line Movement and Betting Splits

Baltimore opened around -7.5 and has moved to -8.5, but the more important adjustment has come on the total. Early numbers reached 48.5 before being pushed through 47 and 46 to the current 45.5 range as Baltimore's offensive injuries accumulated.

Early DraftKings splits showed Baltimore receiving only 53% of spread bets but 73% of the handle. The market clearly respects the Ravens, but the simultaneous reduction in the total suggests expectations for Baltimore's offensive ceiling have been trimmed despite its Week 1 explosion.

Saints vs. Ravens Prediction

Flowers' absence materially changes Baltimore's passing game. He produced 150 yards before halftime last week and is the player most capable of turning a normal completion into an explosive touchdown. Lane is also unavailable, reducing the depth behind Rashod Bateman.

The offensive-line uncertainty matters just as much for an Under. Ronnie Stanley and John Simpson are questionable, meaning Baltimore may have to protect Jackson with a reshuffled left side. That naturally creates more incentive to lean on Henry and the designed quarterback running game rather than forcing deep dropbacks.

A Henry-heavy offense can still score efficiently, but it also shortens games. Baltimore is comfortable constructing long drives behind its rushing attack, and playing as an 8.5-point favorite creates little reason to chase tempo if the Ravens establish an early advantage.

New Orleans' Week 1 passing performance deserves respect, but replicating 410 yards against Baltimore on the road is a difficult assignment. Shough now faces a defense with far more speed at linebacker and safety, while Olave's hamstring issue threatens the Saints' most dangerous receiving matchup.

The Ravens are also unlikely to allow the same volume of explosive plays Detroit surrendered. Kyle Hamilton and Roquan Smith give Baltimore more flexibility in the middle, and Jesse Minter can alter coverage structures without having to sell out against Kamara.

The risk is that either quarterback produces explosive rushing plays or defensive turnovers create short fields. Still, the injuries and expected Baltimore game script point toward something more controlled than the Week 1 box scores suggest.

Saints vs. Ravens Best Bet

The current board is already showing 45.5, so 46 is worth targeting at any sportsbook still offering the extra half-point. Flowers is officially out, Baltimore is thin at receiver and two starting offensive linemen have dealt with injuries throughout the week.

New Orleans can move the football without turning the game into another shootout. Baltimore's best path is to control possession with Henry and Jackson, build a lead and make Shough attack a much tougher defense than he saw in Detroit.
