Vikings vs. Bears Line Movement and Betting Splits
Chicago opened around -3 before Murray's concussion and the Bears' offensive explosion drove the number higher. The market reached Bears -5.5 at points during the week before settling back to -4.5 on the current board.
Early DraftKings betting showed 64% of spread tickets and 83% of the money on Chicago. Murray being ruled out removes the remaining quarterback uncertainty, so the current price reflects a full adjustment from Minnesota's intended starter to Wentz.
Vikings vs. Bears Prediction
Minnesota's defense presents a much more sophisticated challenge than Carolina's did. Brian Flores blitzed Green Bay on 78.3% of its Week 1 dropbacks, an extraordinary rate that is designed to force quarterbacks into immediate post-snap decisions.
Williams has already shown encouraging signs against that style. He completed 9 of 14 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns against the blitz in Week 1, and Ben Johnson has built enough quick-game and screen answers to punish defenders who vacate underneath zones.
The Bears' running game may be even more important. Swift, Monangai and Williams give Chicago three different rushing threats, forcing Minnesota to defend traditional runs, quarterback movement and misdirection simultaneously. That can slow Flores' pressure packages by creating hesitation at the second level.
Wentz was excellent in relief against Green Bay, but repeating that performance from the opening snap on the road is a different assignment. Chicago can build its defensive plan around him all week rather than switching quarterbacks during the game, and Jennings' absence removes another receiving option alongside Justin Jefferson.
Minnesota can still stress Chicago's secondary with Jefferson and Jordan Addison, particularly after the Bears allowed Carolina to score 37 points. That is the primary concern with laying more than a field goal. Wentz does not need to dominate for Minnesota to keep the game competitive if its receivers win outside.
The difference is Chicago's ability to dictate with its offensive line and running game. If the Bears remain out of third-and-long, Minnesota's blitz rate becomes less valuable and Williams should have opportunities to attack an aggressive defense with explosive plays.

Chicago is paying a premium after scoring 59 points, but Murray's absence creates a legitimate quarterback advantage for the home team. Wentz now has to deal with Chicago's front while Minnesota is also missing Jennings and potentially playing with a compromised right tackle.
The Bears do not need another historic offensive performance. If the running game remains efficient and Williams handles Flores' pressure as well as he did last week, Chicago has a path to creating separation in the second half.
